Abstract

La invención se relaciona con un proceso para separar ácido fórmico a partir de metiltetrahidrofurano (MTHF) comprendiendo dicho proceso someter una composición que comprende ácido fórmico y MTHF a destilación, caracterizado porque el proceso comprende agregar agua a dicha destilación. Esto permite una recuperación y reciclaje de MTHF eficiente en costos, por ejemplo en procesos para producir y recuperar ácido fórmico a partir de un hidrolizado de biomasa.
