Abstract

La descripción se refiere a mejorar la operación de depuradores húmedos, especialmente aquellos basados en carbonato de calcio, al reducir las cantidades de cloruros solubles en los gases de combustión alimentados a los depuradores; al convertir el HC1 gaseoso en los gases de combustión en un cloruro de cobre sólido y removerlo antes que el cloruro alcance el depurador, la reactividad del lodo de depuración se mantendrá mejor; los gases de combustión son tratados con un compuesto de cobre acuoso referido como remediador de cloruro con presencia de cobre (CBCR); el proceso de preferencia es implementado al identificar las ubicaciones dentro de una cámara de combustión para alimentar el CBCR, determinar la forma física y los parámetros de inyección para el CBCR e inyectar el CBCR bajo condiciones efectivas para reducir el HC1 y/u óxidos de azufre; las temperaturas efectivas para introducir los CBCRs son entre aproximadamente 121.1°C (250°F) a aproximadamente 482.2°C (900°F); entre los CBCRs preferidos están las composiciones de cobre incluyendo el cobre, una porción orgánica y/o una porción de amoniaco.
