Abstract

Un lente oftálmico multifocal incluye un lente oftálmico y un elemento difracitvo. El lente oftálmico tiene una curvatura de base que corresponde a una potencia de base. El elemento ditractivo produce interferencia constructiva por lo menos en cuatro órdenes difractivos consecutivos que corresponden a un rango de visión entre la Visión cercana y la visión a distancia. La interferencia constructiva produce un foco cercano, un foco a distancia que corresponde a la potencia de base del lente oftálmico y un foco intermedio entre el foco cercano y el foco a distancia. Una eficiencia de difracción de por lo menos uno de los órdenes difractivos se suprime a menos del diez por ciento.
