Abstract
La invención se refiere a una composición de látex en la que la composición de látex comprende un ionómero de butilo o un ionómero de caucho butilo parcialmente halogenado. La composición de látex se forma disolviendo el ionómero de butilo en un disolvente adecuado, emulsionar el polímero en el disolvente, añadir agua y opcionalmente una cantidad minoritaria de un sistema de tensioactivo adecuado a la emulsión y concentrar la emulsión para retirar el agua. Las ventajas del látex de ionómero de butilo incluyen niveles mas bajos de emulgente, mayor estabilidad de látex, interacción y adherencia mejorada a sustratos y a superficies polares y superficies a través de la elección juiciosa de los emulgentes se puede crear una película con una mejor función antimicrobiana polimerica no extraíble. Estas propiedades del Látex de ionomero son útiles en revestimientos, mercancías bañadas y aplicaciones absorbentes.
