Abstract
La invención se refiere a la fabricación de tanques a partir de una o más placas de metal usando un proceso de soldadura por fricción-agitación (FSW=Friction Stir Welding). La placa o placas de metal primero se forman en una estructura tubular (4) con un par de bordes opuestos (2,3) enfrentados entre sí para formar una línea de unión longitudinal, los bordes opuestos (2,3) son entonces unidos mediante soldadura por fricción-agitación. Al menos parte de la región de soldadura por fricción-agitación se trabaja en frío y subsecuentemente el tubo se termotrata a una temperatura sobre la temperatura de recristalización.
