Abstract

Un tronco de leña artificial según la presente invención puede comprender, a manera de constituyentes, un material combustible celulósico o de fibra, un material combustible y no absorbente de retención de aceite y/o grasa, y una cera o carburante/aglutinante combustible en proporciones adecuadas. También puede agregarse un agente aglutinante combustible a manera de material constituyente adicional para permitir una reducción posterior del componente de cera combustible. Ciertos materiales filtrantes sintéticos y subproductos agrícolas naturales contienen aceites y/o grasas que proporcionan un valor mayor de BTU (Unidad Térmica Británica) más allá de los componentes celulósicos o minerales del material. Cuando se agregan estos materiales que retienen aceite y/o grasa, a una mezcla para material de troncos de leña artificial, las propiedades no absorbentes y contenido adicional de BTU de esta materia prima adicional, permite que se reduzca la cantidad de material de cera BTU elevado sin una reducción notable del contenido combustible en la mezcla acabada. Los materiales no absorbentes que retienen aceite y/o grasa son significativamente más económicos por unidad de masa que la parafina, y la sustitución de estos materiales por tipos de ceras más costosas reduce el costo sin degradar el desempeño del producto final del tronco de leña artificial.
