Abstract
Se proporciona un proceso de polimerización en emulsión que comprende (a) agregar una mezcla reactiva a un recipiente de reacción, comprendiendo dicha mezcla reactiva agua, uno o más emulsionantes, uno o más monómeros y uno o más iniciadores, (b) proporcionar las condiciones en las cuales dicha mezcla reactiva experimenta la polimerización en emulsión, y (c) pasar parte de los contenidos de dicho recipiente de reacción a través de un circuito de recirculación que comprende una bomba de baja fuerza de arrastre y un termopermutador de placa y bastidor que tiene un ancho de abertura de 6 a 18 mm, en donde más del 50% del calor producido por dicha polimerización en emulsión se retira de los contenidos de dicho recipiente de reacción por dicho termopermutador de placa y bastidor.
