Abstract

La presente invencion se relaciona al descubrimiento de que receptores de sabor humanos especificos en la familia de receptores de sabor T2R responden a ligandos amargos particulares, es decir, acetaminofen ranitidina, estricnina y denatonio. La presente invencion ademas se relaciona al uso de estos receptores en ensayos para identificar ligandos que modulan la activacion de estos receptores de sabor y que pueden ser usados como aditivos en alimentos, bebidas y medicinas para modificar (bloquear) el sabor amargo asociado con T2R.
