Abstract
Un sistema y metodo para tratar agua de lastre dentro de un buque que navega por el oceano, al generar hipoclorito para tratar el agua de lastre. El sistema presenta una o mas celdas electroliticas de hipoclorito en comunicacion de fluido con una corriente de agua de lastre. Un analizador de cloro esta colocada corriente debajo de las celdas electroliticas para determinar la concentracion de cloro del agua de lastre tratada. Un separador de hidrogeno se conecta a las celdas de electroliticas de hipoclorito para evacuar el hidrogeno. En el metodo el agua se introduce a bordo del barco para servir como lastre en un puerto. Una corriente de tratamiento se separa de la corriente de agua de lastre y se transporta a traves de tuberias a las celdas electroliticas de hipoclorito. El hipoclorito se genera en la corriente de tratamiento y el subproducto de hidrogeno se separa por medio del separador de hidrogeno. La corriente de tratamiento entonces se re-introduce al agua de lastre para eliminar especies marinas y bacterias patogenas. El agua de lastre sufre de des-cloracion antes de ser descargado en un puerto nuevo.
