Abstract

Una composicion de recubrimiento por electrodeposicion catodica acuosa mejorada que contiene un agente anti-crater que es una resina de poliester reducible en agua que tiene un valor de acidez menor de 40 mg de KOH/g. El poliester reducible en agua es el producto de reaccion de (1) un carbonato ciclico de hidroxilo; (2) un anhidrido acido policarboxilico; (3) una resina epoxi monofuncional opcional; (4) una resina epoxi polifuncional; y (5) un compuesto de poliamina que contiene una amina terciaria y ya sea una funcionalidad primaria o secundaria. El producto de reaccion se neutraliza en presencia de acido y agua para convertir los grupos amina terciarios en grupos que se pueden diluir en agua. Los grupos silanos hidrolizables tambien pueden incorporarse en el producto de reaccion para mejorar mas su propiedad de resistencia a la formacion de crateres. La composicion de recubrimiento por electrodeposicion produce recubrimientos que tienen una apariencia mas uniforme con muy pocos crateres sin afectar adversamente la adhesion de las capas internas de la pelicula curada con las capas de recubrimiento posteriores aplicadas sobre esta.
