Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para la consolidación de suelos arenosos expuestos a erosión superficial, caracterizado porque consiste en (a) poner en contacto partículas de arena con una composición acuosa formadora de gel para formar un compuesto mixto y (b) aplicar el compuesto mixto del inciso (a) al suelo arenoso; y porque la composición acuosa formadora de gel se prepara combinando en un medio acuoso un compuesto formador de gel soluble en agua y un agente entrecruzante para dicho compuesto; en donde dicho agente entrecruzante es un catión metálico polivalente y el compuesto formador de gel es un polímero soluble en agua seleccionado entre el grupo formado por carboximetilcelulosa, polímeros producidos por bacterias del género Xanthomonas, polímeros producidos por bacterias de los géneros Agrobacterium y Pseudomonas, polímeros producidos por bacterias del género Sclerotium, hidroxietilcarboximetilcelulosa, poliacrilamidas, alcoholes polivinílicos, poliacrilamidas aminometiladas, gomas guar y derivados de los mismos, y el citado agente entrecruzante está seleccionado entre el grupo formado por aluminio (III), estaño (IV), cromo (III), antimino (V), titanio (IV), boro (III) y zirconio (IV).
