Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para someter a combustión un combustible y un oxidante para lograr una formación reducida de óxidos de nitrógeno, que comprende: (A) calentar una zona de combustión a una temperatura por lo menos igual a 815 grados C (1500 grados F); (B) inyectar a la zona de combustión calentada, una corriente de oxidante a una velocidad dentro del rango de 61 a 326 metros por segundo (200 a 1070 pies por segundo); (C) inyectar a la zona de combustión, separada de la corriente de oxidante, una corriente de combustible, a una velocidad tal que la relación de la velocidad de la corriente de oxidante con respecto a la velocidad de la corriente de combustible no exceda de 20; (E) aspirar los gases de la combustión hacia la corriente de oxidante y, posteriormente, mezclar la corriente de oxidante aspirada y la corriente de combustible, para formar una mezcla combustible; (E) someter a combustión la mezcla combustible para producir gases de combustión para la aspiración de la etapa (D); y (F) mantener la corriente de combustible substacialmente fuera de contacto con el oxidante antes del mezclado con el oxidante aspirado de la etapa (D).
