Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a procedimiento para fundir aluminio y aleaciones de aluminio caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de: cargar un horno de cuba vertical con aluminio o una aleación del mismo, transferir suficiente calor al metal íntegramente por convección para fundir el metal, incluyendo esta etapa la etapa de dirigir la llama de una pluralidad de quemadores hacia la parte inferior de la carga metálica, de modo que las llamas se dirijan hacia abajo inclinadas y localizadas en planos verticales no coincidentes que se intersectan adyacentes al eje del horno de cuba vertical; y extraer el metal fundido del horno de cuba vertical.
