Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a mejoras a proceso para formar un carburo de metals, tal como, carburo de silicio o carburo de manganeso, mediante el calentar una mezcla de carbón y un óxido de metal, tal como, óxido de silicio u óxido de manganeso, caracterizadas porque: la mezcla está formada de un material carbonáceo finamente dividido y de un óxido finamente dividido de silicio o de manganeso; y la mezcla es calentada a una temperatura debajo del punto de fusión del óxido de metal para efectuar una reacción de estado formando el carburo de metal sin el derretido de cualesquiera de los componentes o del producto.
