Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para formar y conectar un miembro de fricción a la placa de refuerzo metálica de una almohadilla de freno de disco caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de: limpiar la superficie superior de la placa de refuerzo metálica; soldar la malla metálica expandida a la superficie superior de la placa de refuerzo; soplar con granalla y dicha malla metálica expandida y dicha placa de refuerzo para incrementar el área superficial por aspereza y limpiar la malla y la placa de refuerzo; elevar la porción no soldada de la malla metálica expandida arriba de la superficie superior de la placa de refuerzo; aplicar adhesivo a la malla metálica expandida y a la superficie superior de la placa de refuerzo; colocar la placa de refuerzo en un molde de curación; vertir el material de fricción suelto que pesa menos que aproximdamanete 15 por ciento del peso de una preforma del material de fricción compactado sobre la malla metálica expandida y la placa de refuerzo; colocar un material de fricción compactado en el molde de operación en la parte superior de la malla metálica expandida; y aplicar una combinación de calor y presión al material de fricción suelto, adhesivo, de la placa de refuerzo y a la preforma del material de fricción en el molde para causar así que el material suelto y la preforma formen un miembro de fricción unitario conectado rígidamente a la superficie superior de la placa de refuerzo en la que la malla metálica expandida se ha embebido.
