Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para suprmir humo en acero fundido que contiene un ingrediente de aleación generador de humos, soluble, que tiene una presión de vapor mayor que el hierro, el método comprendiendo los pasos de: proporcionar un baño de acero fundido; añadir al baño de acero fundido un ingrediente de aleación soluble, generador de humos; disolver el ingrediente de aleación generador de humos en el baño de acero fundido, durante un período de tiempo de disolución que termina cuando se obtiene la disolución máxima del ingrediente de aleación; y reducir substancialmente el contenido de oxígeno en la atmósfera adyacente a la parte superior del baño fundido, durante cuando menos el período de tiempo de disolución, haciendo reaccionar el oxígeno adyacente a la parte superior del baño con otro material.
