Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para separar azufre de una corriente de un polisulfuro orgánico, con alto rango de azufre, caracterizado porque comprende: (a) poner en contacto continuamente la corriente de polisulfuro orgánico con una corriente que circula a contracorriente, de una solución desprendedora acuosa, inmiscible, de por lo menos una sal sulfuro o hidrosulfuro metálico: ocurriendo el contacto continuo al mezclar dichas corrientes en por lo menos dos zonas de reacción sucesivas, de contacto directo, de etapas múltiples, para formar en cada una de dichas etapas sucesivas, una fase acuosa de contenido de azufre incrementado, y una fase orgánica que contiene un polisulfuro de menor rango de azufre: (b) separar las corrientes acuosa y orgánica entre cada zona de reacción por contacto directo, y posteriormente dirigir cada corriente a una diferente zona hasta que todas las zonas del sistema son atravesadas: dirigiéndose siempre la corriente acuosa a aquella zona en la cual está presenteun polisulfuro de rango de azufre que el de la zona ya atravesada: (c) recuperar el polisulfuro de menor rango de azufre, después que el polisulfuro atravieza la ultima zona: y (d) descartar opcionalmente la corriente acuosa o recuperar el azufre por precipitación de la corriente acuosa después de atravesar la última zona.
