Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un aislante eléctrico de alto voltaje y alta eficiencia para usarse con voltajes que sobrepasen los 15 kilovoltios línea a tierra en un entorno al aire libre; que se caracteriza en que comprende: (i) una varilla polimérica de soporte, no conductora reforzada con fibras, (ii) una conexión metálica de soporte afianzadamente acoplada en cada extremo de la varilla de soporte; (iii) una cubierta o envoltura elastomérica de silicona, continua y arcorresistente, unida afianzadamente en la varilla de soporte y en cada conexión metálica de soporte; cuya cubierta está configurada para proveer, cuando menos, una campana aislante y para que estén presentes las siguientes proporciones: Ds sobre Ls igual o menor de 1.5 Lc sobre La igual o menor de 1.7 Ds sobre Dc igual o menor de 3 en cuyas proporciones Ds es el diámetro de la campana aislante, Ls es la distancia entre posiciones equivalentes en las campanas adyacentes , Lc es la distancia de fuga entre las conexiones de soporte, La es la distancia en línea recta entre las conexiones de soporte, y Dc es el diámetro de la cubierta sobre la varilla de soporte; la cubierta elastomérica de silicona comprende una composición curada resultante de una composición que comprende una mezcla de: (a) 70 a 90 partes por peso de polidimetilsiloxano bloqueado en el extremo por dimetilvinilsiloxi teniendo un número de plasticidad Williams mayor de 50; (b) 10 a 30 partes por peso de polidiorganosiloxano bloqueado en el extremo por dimetilvinilsiloxi teniendo aproximadamente 98 moles por ciento de unidades de dimetilsiloxano y 2 moles por ciento de unidades de metil vinilsiloxano y un número de plasticidad Williams mayor de 25; (c) 13 a 17 partes por peso de sílice fumante teniendo un área superficial mayor de 50 m2/gramo, y una superficie tratada que evita la reacción con (a) y (b), (d) 1.5 a 2.5 partes por peso de polidiorganosiloxano bloqueado en el extremo por hidroxilo y teniendo radicales metílicos y vinílicos, y teniendo aproximadamente un 10 por ciento por peso de radical vinílico y aproximadamente un 16 por ciento por peso de radical hidroxílico; (e) 90 a 220 partes por peso de trihidrato de aluminio, habiéndose calentado la mezcla a una temperatura de, cuando menos, 100 granos centígrados durante un período de tiempo de, cuando menos, 30 minutos.
