Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para endurecer con rayo laser conos de barrenas de perforación que llevan un inserto cortador duro para una barrena para roca caracterizado en que comprende las etapas de formar una pieza en bruto para el cono a partir de un acero endurecible de entre mediano y alto contenido de carbón, y la pieza en bruto del cono incluye una superficie externa; hacer que la superficie externa de la pieza en bruto del cono sea ocura y absorbente a la luz laser; formar agujeros de inserción para los insertos cortadores duros en la superficie externa del cono; hacer que las áreas de los agujeros sean reflectoras de tal forma que la superficie externa del cono incluya superficies oscuras, absorbentes de luz, y también superficies reflectoras que relativamente no absorben la luz laser; después de la etapa de formar los agujeros de inserción, bombardear la superficie externa del cono con un rayo laser de intensidad suficiente y durante un tiempo suficiente como para austenitizar la capa externa en la superficie externa absorbente a la luz del cono; y enfriar la capa austenitizada con rapidez suficiente como para formar martensita en la capa externa de la superficie externa absorbente a la luz, con lo que se obtiene un cono que tiene una cubierta externa endurecida con agujeros de inserción que tienen paredes y fondo no endurecidos.
