Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a prcedimiento para la preparación de un pigmento de dióxido de titanio rutilo con un recubrimiento de alúmina caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de a) poner en contacto una pasta acuosa de un pigmento de dióxido de titanio con una sal de cerio y un fluoruro soluble en agua, para proporcionar una concentración de compuesto de fluoruro en la pasta de alrededor de 0.5 a 2 por ciento en base al peso del dióxido de titanio y b) poner en contacto la pasta con una sal de aluminato para proporcionar una concentración de aluminato de alrededor de 1 a 8 por ciento por peso del dióxido de titanio.
