Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una transmisión de velocidades múltiples, caracterizada porque comprende, en combinación; (a) una cubierta; (b) un par de ejes secundarios principales paralelos y espaciados montados para la rotación dentro de la cubierta y espacialmente fijos en la misma; (c) los medios para suministrar fuerza motriz a los dos ejes secundarios principales; (d) una pluralidad de pares de engranes de mando montados en los ejes secundarios principales, cada engrane de un par es considerablemente idéntico y está situado en sitios opuestos en cada eje secundario principal; (e) un eje principal flotante que tiene extremos de entrada y de salida, cuyo eje principal está colocado dentro de la cubierta, entre los ejes secundarios principales y en relación paralela con respecto a los mismos, cuyo eje principal flotante tiene su extremo de salida extendiéndose adelante de los ejes secundarios, sin tener cojinetes interiores o exteriores u otro soporte alguno en sus extremos o adyacentes a los mismos, bajo condiciones de generación de esfuerzos torsionales; (f) una pluralidad de engranes mandados colocados en el eje principal, uno para cada par de engranes de impulso ó mando, los cuales accionan los engranes impulsados o mandados; (g) un dispositivo para embragar selectivamente uno de los engranes impulsados o mandados en una relación impulsora con el eje principal. (h) un engrane de mando de campo de acción colocado en el extremo de salida del eje principal; (i) un par de ejes secundarios paralelos y espaciados de campo de acción montados para la rotación dentro de la cubierta y los cuales están espacialmente fijos en la cubierta; (j) un par de engranes impulsores fijos en los ejes secundarios de campo de acción y en relación impulsora con el engrane de mando de campo de acción; mediante lo cual el extremo de entrada del eje principal es de autoalineación y es sostenido por el par de engranes de mando que accionan al engrane mandado que se ha embragado selectivamente con el eje principal, y el extremo de salida es de autoalineación y es sostenido por el par de engranes impulsores en los ejes secundarios de campo de acción que son accionados por el engrane de mando de campo de acción.
