Abstract

The invention relates to electrical and thermochemical processes for machining of steel products and can be used in mechanical engineering and instrument engineering for improving the corrosion resistance of machine parts, tools and production tooling.The process, according to the invention, consists in that it is carried out the layer-by-layer electric-spark alloying of the steel part surface with a pulse duration of 10…2500 µs, a frequency of 1500…25 Hz correspondingly, with the obtaining of a coating, then it is carried out the anodic thermochemical machining of the obtained coating for 1…5 minutes in an electrolyte containing inorganic nitrogen compounds with the addition of 0.5…15 g/l of tannin at the electrode voltage of 150…220 V, current density of 1…20 A/cm2 and anode temperature of 600…900°C with subsequent quenching-oxidation in the electrolyte. After that the part is maintained during 3…5 hours in concentrated phosphoric acid and/or sodium nitrate solution with a concentration of 30…150 g/l at the temperature of 70…100°C, then the part is washed, dried and the coating pores are electrolytically filled with insulating material.
