Abstract
Invenţia se referă la motoarele cu ardere internă şi este orientată la sporirea eficienţei lucrului. Utilizarea: motorul Merritt cu ardere internă posedă un set din doi cilindri (12, 14) totodată primul cilindru posedă un volum util mai mare decât al doilea cilindru (14) şi primul şi al doilea piston respectiv (16, 18), care se deplasează în cilindri ciclic cu o frecvenţă egală. Orificiul de admisie (24) pentru aer şi orificiul de evacuare comunică cu primul cilindru, iar injectorul de combustibil (34) asigură avansarea combustibilului în al doilea cilindru. Există camera de ardere (20), care comunică cu ambii cilindri în cursul cel puţin a unei părţi a cursei de destindere. Pistonul al doilea posedă fund (35) şi corp, totodată fundul este îndepărtat de la corp şi conectat la el şi posedă muchie (37), care este relativ mică în direcţia axială comparativ cu distanţa între fund şi corp în direcţia axială. Camera de ardere (20) este formată între fundul pistonului, corp şi peretele lateral (14a) al cilindrului al doilea. Particularităţile constructive ale motorului asigură posibilitatea de selectivitate a regimurilor de lucru. Regimul de lucru Merritt este, în special, raţional în cazul, când este necesară economisirea combustibilului la sarcina parţială sau atunci când este de dorit lucrul cu diferiţi combustibili, de exemplu, de alcool, avansaţi spre injector (34) întrucât regimul Merritt este mai puţin sensibil la schimbările combustibilului, în special la cifra octanică.
