Abstract
Polypeptides of the general formula Ser-X1-X2-rscuPA<143-411> (1) in which X1 and X2 are defined amino acids or lower peptide bridges, X2 can also be a single bond, and rscuPA<143-411> is the unglycosylated sequence region of amino acids 143 (Glu) to 411 (LeuOH) from scu-PA 54 k, which can be used as plasminogen activators are described. To obtain these compounds, plasmids which are described in detail as such or in terms of their isolation were produced and expression thereof in suitable bacterial hosts provides, in each case in high yields, an expression product which does not act as plasminogen activator but whose protein-chemical conversion then leads to the single-chain compounds of the formula I which are valuable as plasminogen activators. <IMAGE>
