Abstract
1477131 Ceramic-metal seals COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE 14 Feb 1972 [22 Feb 1971] 6733/72 Heading B3V A microporous ceramic tube 5 for use in gaseous diffusion separation of uranium isotopes is joined by means of thermoplastic material 6 to a metal end piece consisting of two hollow cylinders 4, 1 connected by a bellows 2. Additional thermoplastic material may be placed on the inside of the joint. The jointing material specified is the copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene which may be applied in powder form using a mould or injection device, and then heated to form the joint. Two end pieces may be coated with the polymer and pressed one on each end of the porous tube.
