Abstract
본 발명은 표시 장치에 사용되는 고가이고 소비전력이 큰 소스 드라이버의 필요수를 적게하여 액정표시장치의 저가격화, 저소비전력화를 이룰 수 있도록 한 표시장치 및 그 구동방법을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
본 발명은 복수의 기본색을 조합하여 1가지 색을 표시하는 화소가 다수 배열되고, 다수의 주사선과 다수의 신호선에 의해 상기 다수의 화소가 매트릭스 구동됨과 함께, 각 신호선 방향을 따라 상기 복수의 기본색 조합이 반복하여 배열되고, 주사선의 수가 신호선을 따라 배열하는 전 화소수에 대한 상기 기본색 수배의 수로 되어 이루어진 것이다.

제1도는 본 발명에 관한 표시장치의 제1형태를 나타내는 평면도ㄹ.
제2도는 제1도에 나타내는 표시장치의 화소와 박막트랜지스터구조의 관계를 나타내는 확대도.
제7도는 본 발명을 단순 매트릭스 구동의 액정표시장치에 채용한 한 형태를 나타내는 도.
제8도는 제7도에 나타낸 액정표시장치의 1개 화소의 확대도.
Claims (6)
- 복수의 기본색을 조합하여 1개의 색을 표시하는 화소가 다수 배열되고, 다수의 주사선과 다수의 신호선에 의해 상기 다수의 화소가 매트릭스 구동됨과 함께, 각 신호선 방향을 따라 상기 복수의 기본색 조합이 반복하여 배열되고, 주사선의 수가, 신호선을 따라 배열하는 전체 화소 수에 대한 상기 기본색수의 배수로 되어 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 각 신호선을 따라 배열된 기본색의 순번이, 신호선을 따라 반복하여 같은 순번으로 되고, 주사선을 따라 같은 기본색이 배열된 것을 특징으로하는 표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 각 신호선을 따라 배열된 기본색 순번이, 신호선을 따라 반복하여 같은 순번으로 되고, 상기 기본색의 각각이 신호선에 대하여 경사지게 배열되고, 동시에 주사선을 따라 서로 다른 기본색이 인접배열된 것을 특징으로 하는 표시장치.
- 제1항의 표시장치를 구동함에 있어서, 1개의 프레임 사이에 모든 주사선을 순차 주사하는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제1항의 표시장치를 구동함에 있어서, 1개의 프레임을 복수의 필드로 분할하고, 소정의 필드마다 비월주사하는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제1항의 구성을 가지고, 또 제4항의 구동방법과 제5항의 구동방법을 절환수단에 의해 자유선택하는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시장치.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
