Abstract

This invention is to provide a color liquid crystal display element having the characteristic of field sequential driving and capable of multi-color display by one segment (dot) at a low cost even in the liquid crystal display element having a large display capacity needing high duty driving. The liquid crystal display is formed by combining the liquid crystal display element (1) of a usual segment + dot matrix type capable of monochrome display (white and black display) with a field sequential driving liquid crystal display element (2) capable of color display.
