Abstract

본 발명은 전기발광소자에 관한 것으로, 종래에는 전기발생 고분자 소자에서 전자주입의 에너지 장벽이 정공 주입의 에너지 장벽보다 크기 때문에 발광층에 주입되는 전자와 정공의 균형이 맞지않아 발광효율이 떨어지는 단점이 있었고, 전자주입을 증대시키기 위해서 일함수가 작은 칼슘등을 사용하지만 이는 공기중에서 불안정하여 사용하기가 매우 어렵다. 본 발명은 이를 극복하기 위해 터널링 효과의 범위내의 두께를 가지는 얇은 절연막을 전극층과 발광층 사이중 어느 한측에 삽입 형성하여 터널링 효과에 의해 전자주입을 늘이고 정공주입을 줄여 발광층으로의 전자와 정공 주입 균형을 맞춤으로써, 발광효율을 향상시킨다.

Claims (2)

  1. 유리기판 위에 하부 전극층을 형성하고, 그 위에 발광층 및 상부 전극층을 차례로 형성하되, 상기 하부전극층 또는 상부전극층과 발광층 사이중 어느 한쪽에만 터널링 범위내에 있는 두께의 얇은 절연막을 삽입 형성한 것을 특징으로 하는 얇은 절연층을 삽입한 전기발광 소자.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 절연막은 PMMA LB막으로서 다층으로 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 얇은 절연층을 삽입한 전기발광소자.
