Abstract

액정 장치는 전극 매트릭스를 형성하기 위해 주사 전극의 그룹과 주사 전극을 교치하는 데이타 전극의 그룹을 그 위치에 갖는 한쌍의 기판, 및 주사 전극과 온 상태 및 오프 상태를 취하는 데이타 전극의 각 교차점에서 화소를 형성하기 위해 기판 사이에 배열된 액정을 포함하는 액정 디바이스, 주사 신호를 주사 전극에 순차적으로 인가하기 위한 주사신호 인가수단, 제1데이타 신호 및 제2데이타 신호를 주사 신호와 동기하여 상기 데이타 전극에 선택적으로 인가하기 위한 데이타 신호 인가 수단, 및 화소의 온 및 오프 상태를 각각 제공하기 위한 제1 및 제2데이타 신호를 사용하는 첫번째 구동 모드와 화소의 오프 및 온 상태를 각각 제공하기 위한 제1 및 제2데이차 신호를 사용하는 두번째 구동 모드 사이에는 주기적으로 스위칭 하기 위한 제어 수단을 포함한다. 액정 장치는 누화의 발생을 억제하기 위하여 디스플레이 패턴에 따르는 파형 주파수의 변화를 억제하는데 효과적이다.

Claims (6)

  1. 액정 장치에 있어서, 전극 매트릭스를 형성하기 위해 주사 전극의 그룹과 주사 전극을 교차하는 데이타 전극의 그룹을 그 위치에 갖는 한쌍의 기판, 및 주사 전극과 온 상태 및 오프 상태를 취하는 데이타 전극의 각 교차점에서 화소를 형성하기 위해 기판 사이에 배열된 액정을 포함하는 액정 디바이스; 주사 신호를 주사 전극에 순차적으로 인가하기 위한 주사 신호 인가 수단; 제1데이타 신호 및 제2데이타 신호를 포함하는 데이타 신호를 주사 신호와 동기하여 데이타 전극에 선택적으로 인가하기 위한 데이타 신호 인가 수단; 및 화소의 온 및 오프 상태를 각각 제공하기 위하여 제1 및 제2데이타 신호를 사용하는 첫번째 구동 모드와 화소의 오프 및 온 상태를 각각 제공하기 위하여 제1 및 제2데이타 신호를 사용하는 두번째 구동 모드 사이에서 주기적으로 스위칭하기 위한 제어 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2데이타 신호는 상호 다른 극성을 갖는 바이폴라 펄스를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 주사 신호가 첫번째 및 두번째 구동 방법으로 상호 다른 파형을 갖도록 발생되는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정이 치랄 스메틱 액정인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 장치.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정 강유전성 액정인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 장치.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정이 치랄 네마틱 액정인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 장치.
