Abstract

본 발명은 액정 표시 장치 및 그 제조 방법에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는, 동일한 크기에서 최대의 표시 화면을 구현하는 액정 표시 장치 및 그 제조 방법에 관한 것이다. 서로 교차하는 다수의 배선, 배향막 및 주입구를 가지는 봉입재가 형성되어 있으며 대향하는 두 기판에 액정 주입하고 두 기판의 측면부를 배선의 끝단이 드러나도록 연마하고 두 기판의 측면부에 배선과 접지하는 패드부를 형성하고 패드부 위에 접착력을 향상시키기 위해 이방성 도전막을 부착하고 이방성 도전막이 부착되어 있는 부분에 구동 집적회로를 실장한다. 따라서, 본 발명에 따른 액정 표시 장치는 경박단소화를 추구하는 휴대용 컴퓨터 설계에서 두 기판의 측면에 패드부를 형성함으로써 동일한 크기에서 표시 부분에 속하는 활성 영역을 최대로 하여 화상 표시 면적을 극대화할 수 있다.

Claims (7)

  1. 평행하게 대향하고 있으며 동일한 크기를 갖는 두 기판, 상기 두 기판의 내부에 형성되어 있는 다수의 배선과 접지되어 있으며 상기 두 기판의 측면부에 형성되어 있는 다수 패드로 이루어진 패드부를 포함하는 표시 패널.
  2. 평행하게 대향하고 있으며 동일한 크기를 갖는 두 기판, 상기 두 기판의내부에 형성되어 있는 다수의 배선과 접지되어 있으며 상기 두 기판의 측면부에 형성되어 있는 다수의 패드로 이루어진 다수의 패드부, 상기 기판의 측면의 상기 패드부에 각각 실장되어 있는 다수의 구동 집적회로를 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
  3. 평행하게 대향하고 있으며 동일한 크기를 갖는 두 기판, 상기 두 기판의 내부에 형성되어 있는 다수의 배선과 접지되어 있으며 상기 두 기판의 측면부에 형성되어 있는 다수 패드로 이루어진 패드부, 상기 두 기판과 수직으로 상기 패드부에 일부가 부착되어 있는 탭 아이시, 상기 두 기판과 수직으로 상기 탭 아이시의 일부에 부착되어 있는 PCB 기판을 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
  4. 서로 교차하는 다수의 배선, 배향막 및 주입구를 가지는 봉입재가 형성되어 있으며 대향하는 두 기판에 액정 주입하는 단계, 상기 두 기판의 측면부를 상기 배선의 끝단이 드러나도록 연마하는 단계, 상기 두 기판의 측면부에 상기 배선과 접지하는 패드부를 형성하는 단계, 상기 패드부 위에 접착력을 향상시키기 위해 이방성 도전막을 부착하는 단계, 상기 이방성 도전막이 부착되어 있는 부분에 구동 집적회로를 실장하는 단계를 포함하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
  5. 제4항에서, 상기 PCB 기판은 상기 두 기판에 대하여 수직으로 부착되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
  6. 서로 교차하는 다수의 배선, 배향막 및 주입구를 가지는 봉입재가 형성되어 있으며 대향하는 두 기판에 액정 주입하는 단계, 상기 두 기판의 측면부를 상기 배선의 끝단이 드러나도록 연마하는 단계, 상기 두 기판의 측면부에 상기 배선과 접지하는 패드부를 형성하는 단계, 상기 패드부 위에 접착력을 향상시키기 위해 이방성 도전막을 부착하는 단계, 상기 이방성 도전막이 부착되어 있는 부분에 구동 집적회로가 실장되어 있는 탭 아이시를 부착하는 단계, 상기 탭 아이시에 PCB 기판을 부착하는 단계를 포함하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
  7. 제6항에서, 상기 PCB 기판은 상기 두 기판에 대하여 수직으로 부착하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
