Abstract

광픽업에 있어서, 광디스크에 대한 대물렌즈의 포커스에러를 검출하기 위한 포커스에러 검출장치가 개시되어 있다. 그 장치는 광디스크(5)에서 반사된 반사광(10)의 광축이 시프트 또는 틸트되는 것에 의한 오류를 제거하기 위한 것으로서, 그 반사광을 회절 분할하는 회전소자(11), 이 회절된 반사광을 각각 임계각에서 반사시키는 임계각 반사면(12a,13a)을 가지는 2개의 임계각 프리즘(12,13), 그리고 각각의 임계각 반사면(12a,13a)에서 반사되는 회절된 광을 수광하는 2개의 2분할 광검출기(14,15)를 구비한다. 그리고 그 반사광의 시프트 또는 틸트에 의한 광량의 변화를 상쇄하는 방향으로 그 2분할 광검출기의 각 신호를 차동 및 가산하여 원하는 신호를 출력한다. 즉, 반사광의 광축 시프트 및 틸트와 무관하게 순순한 포커스에러 신호만을 출력하여 광픽업의 오동작을 막고 깨끗한 기록과 재생을 가능하게 하는 것이다.

제5도는 본 발명에 따른 포커스에러의 검출원리를 설명하기 위하여 나타낸 것으로, (가)는 합초점 상태, (나)는 디스크가 멀리 있는 상태, 그리고 (다)는 디스크가 가까이 있는 상태를 나타낸 배치도.

Claims (3)

  1. 평행한 입사광을 광디스크에 접속하는 대물렌즈의 포커스에러를 검출하기 위한 포커스에러 검출장치에 잇어서, 상기 광디스크에서 반사되어 상기 대물렌즈를 경유한 반사광을 2개의 회절광으로 회절시키는 회절소자와, 상기 2개의 회절광을 각각 임계각에서 반사시키는 임계각 반사수단과, 상기 임계각 반사수단에 의하여 각각 반사되는 상기 2개의 회절광을 각각 수광하여 그 수광되는 광량에 따른 신호를 검출하는 2개의 2분할광검출기와, 상기 2개의 2분할 광검출기의 검출되는 신호를 상기 반사광의 틸트나 시프트에 의한 광량 편차를 상쇄하는 방향으로 차동 및 가산하여 상기한 포커스에러의 정도를 알리는 신호를 출력하기 위한 회로수단을 구비하여 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 포커스에러 검출장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 임계각 반사수단이 상기 2개의 회절광을 각각 임계각 보다 큰 각에서 반사시키는 임계각 반사면을 가지는 2개의 임계각 프리즘을 구비하여 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 포커스에러 검출장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 2개의 회절광 각각은 상기 회절소자에 입사되는 반사광에 대하여 서로 대칭인 것을 특징으로 하는 포커스에러 검출장치.
