Abstract

본 발명은 자동차의 충돌사고시 탑승자에게 가해지는 측면충격으로부터 탑승자를 보호하는데 적합하도록 한 자동차의 시트에어백에 관한 것으로, 자동차에 정면충격과 함께 측면충격이 가해졌을때 승차한 탑승자가 받게되는 직접적인 정면충격과 측면충격을 동시에 완화시킬 수 있는 자동차용 에어백을 제공하기 위하여 충돌사고시 전방충격력을 감지하는 전방충돌감지센서군과 상기 전방충돌감지센서군으로부터 입력된 충격데이타신호를 기초로 전방충격이 기준치 이상이면 운전석과 조수석측에 각각 설치된 에어백을 부풀어오르게 하는 제어장치로 구성된 자동차용 에어백에 있어서, 상기 에어백의 일측을 연장하여 운전자 및 조수석 승차자의 측부와 이것에 인접한 사이드도어의 사이를 통과하면서 부풀어오르도록 “ㄴ”자 형태로 형성하고, 자동차의 측방향에서 가해지는 측면충격력을 감지하여 상기 제어장치에 충격데이타신호를 보내주기 위한 측면충격감지센서를 구비하여 자동차의 정면충돌시나 측면충돌시에 자동차에 탑승한 승차자가 차내의 사이드도어쪽으로 치우쳐 이것에 직접 부딪침에 따라 탑승자가 상해를 입게 되는 것을 방지할 수 있으므로 운전자나 탑승자의 안전을 보장해 주게되며, 더 나아가서는 탑승자의 생명을 보호할 수 있는 효과가 있도록 된 것이다.The present invention relates to a seat airbag of a vehicle which is adapted to protect the occupant from the side impact applied to the occupant in the event of a crash of the vehicle, and the direct frontal impact received by the occupant when the side impact is applied to the vehicle along with the frontal impact.
