Abstract

본 발명은 가스발생기의 직경보다 약간 큰 직경부분을 갖는 원통형 중간부분(16), 가스발생기의 삽입시에 가스발생기의 정합부분과 헐거운 끼워맞춤되도록 직경이 중간 부분의 직경보다 상대적으로 더 작게 되어 있는 제1끝(32) 및 제2끝(34) 을 포함하여 형성된 중공 압출 구조물(14)을 포함하고 있으며, 중간부분은 가스발생기의 벽과 공동으로 작동하여 가스발생기로부터의 팽창가스를 수용하기 위해 개방 챔버를 형성하며 각각이 팽창가스를 매니폴드 밖으로 내보내는 적어도 하나의 출구포트(44a 내지 d, 46a내지d)를 구비하고 있는 2개의 대향위치하는 바깥쪽으로 벌어진 부분(18a,b)을 더 포함하고 있는, 팽창가스가 에어백을 팽창시키기 위해 유출되는 팽창포트(26a,b)를 포함하는 대체로 원통형인 가스발생기(12)를 유지하기 위한 매니폴드(10)에 관한 것이다.

가스발생기용 매니폴드 또는 리테이너(MANIFOLD FOR RETAINER FOR A GAS GENERATOR)

Claims (7)

  1. 팽창가스가 에어백을 팽창시키기 위해 유출되는 팽창포트(26a,b)를 포함하는 대체로 원통형인 가스발생기(12)를 유지하기 위한 매니폴드(10)에 있어서, 가스 발생기의 직경보다 약간 큰 직경부분을 갖는 원통형 중간부분(16), 가스발생기의 삽입시에 가스발생기의 정합부분과 헐거운 끼워맞춤되도록 폭이 좁게 되어 있는 제1끝(32) 및 제2끝(34)을 포함하여 형성된 중공 압출 구조물(14)을 포함하고 있으며, 중간부분은 가스발생기의 벽과 공동으로 작동하여 가스발생기로부터의 팽창 가스를 수용하기 위해 가스수용부분(22a,b)을 형성하며 각각이 팽창가스를 매니폴드밖으로 내보내는 적어도 하나의 출구포트(44a내지d,46a내지d)를 구비하고 있는 2개의 대향위치하는 바깥쪽으로 벌어진 부분(18a,b)을 더 포함하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스발생기(12) 유지용 매니폴드(10).
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 구조물(14)은 2개의 대향하는 벌어진 부분사이에 있는 축방향 바깥쪽으로 뻗어있는 돌출부(30)를 그 하부부분상에서 더 포함하여 구조물(14)의 길이 방향으로 실질적으로 뻗어있으며 가스발생기의 한쪽 끝으로부터 퍼져있는 전선을 수용하도록 되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스발생기(12)유지용 매니폴드(10).
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 가스발생기 팽창포트는 그 한 쪽 끝부분 부근에 위치하며 각각의 벌어진 부분은 길게 축방향으로 뻗어있고 복수의 출구포트를 포함하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스발생기(12)유지용 매니폴드(10).
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 제2끝은 가스발생기의 원추형 끝을 수용하도록 원추형으로 되어 있으며 탄성부재(42)가 제2끝과 가스발생기의 원추형 끝 사이에 배치되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스발생기(12)유지용 매니폴드(10).
  5. 제2항에 있어서, 돌출부(30)는 적어도 매니폴드와 가스발생기가 공동으로 작동하는 구조물에 체결될 수 있게 해주는 수단을 제공하는 패스너 수단을 수용하도록 되어 있는 복수의 개구부(50,52)를 포함하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스발생기(12)유지용 매니폴드(10).
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 복수의 개구부중 하나(50)는 내향 나사식 보스에 의해 형성되어 한쪽 끝은 가스발생기를 정위치에 잠금하도록 보스로부터 뻗어있고 다른 한 쪽 끝은 공동을 작동하는 구조물에 체결적합하게 되어 있는 패스터를 수용하도록 되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스발생기(12)유지용 매니폴드(10).
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 가스발생기 한쪽 끝은 돌출부(30)와 노치를 폐쇄하고 있는 밀봉재료(116)를 지지하는 연장 돌출부(30)와 일정간격 유지되어 면해있는 위치의 노치(94)를 내부에 포함하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스발생기(12)유지용 매니폴드(10).
