Abstract

흑백 디스플레이 장치에서는 조사 레벨이 증가 할 때 조사 부위의 광학적 중심을 일정하게 유지 하는것이 중요한 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서, 임의의 픽셀 구성은 조사 부위의 광학적 중심을 유지할 필요성과 디스플레이의 픽셀을 구동시키기 위한 실제적인 조건간의 교환조건(trade off)을 포함한다.
풀 컬러 픽셀 디스플레이에서는 풀 컬러 구성과 흑백 픽셀 구성간의 차로 인해 부분적 또는 실제적으로 광학적 중심을 유지 해야 할 필요성이 저감될 수 있다. 따라서, 조사 부위의 광학적 중심을 유지하기 위한 저감된 필요성을 갖는 풀 컬러 디스플레이의 픽셀 구성(30)과 아울러 저감된 광학적 중심 필요성에 따라 풀 컬러 픽셀을 구성하는 방법이 기술되어 있다.

Claims (6)

  1. 다수의 픽셀(30)을 구비하는 픽셀 패턴을 갖는데, 각 픽셀은 다수의 조사되는 원색 서브-영역(42-47)을 갖고, 상기 서브-영역 각각은 조사 상태 또는 비-조사 상태로 세트 될 수 있는 다수의 조사 영역(42-47)을 더 구비하도록 구성된 개별 레벨 컬러 픽셀(20) 디스플레이에 있어서, a)상기 원색 서브-영역(즉, 42-47)은 상기 픽셀(30)의 한 측면으로부터 다른 측면으로 실질적으로 제1방향으로 연장되지만 상기 픽셀에서 제1방향에 실질적으로 법선 방향인 제2방향에서는 제한된 크기 만을 갖고, b)상기 조사 영역(42-47)은 제1방향으로의 이동에 대해서는 실질적으로 안정되어 있지만 제2방향으로의 이동해 대해서는 실질적으로 상기 조사 부위의 중심의 임의의 이동이 제한되는 조사 부위의 중심에서의 변화하는 강도로 조사 될 수 있도록 배열 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 개별 레벨 컬러 픽셀 디스플레이.

  4. 다수의 픽셀(30)을 구비하는 개별 레벨 디스플레이에서, 각 픽셀은 다수의 조사되는 원색이 서브-영역(42-47)을 포함하고, 각 서브영역은 조사상태 또는 비 조사 상태로 세트될 수 있는 다수의 조사 영역을 더 구비하도록 구성된 상기 개별 레벨 디스플레이에 대한 픽셀 레이아웃 패턴(20)을 결정하는 방법에 있서, a)상기 원색 서브-영역(15)의 중심으로부터 인접한 다음 픽셀의 대응하는 원색 서브-영역 각각의 중심까지의 거리 측정 값을 결정하는 단계, b)상기 원색 서브-영역(15)으로부터 가장 가까운 인접한 다음의 원색 서브-영역(16)까지의 상기 거리 측정값의 최소값을 결정하는 단계, c)상기 가장 가까운 인접하는 다음의 원색 서브-영역(16)의 대응하는 조사 레벨과 관련하여 실질적으로 그 거리가 일정하게 유지 되되 광학적 중심은 직교 방향으로 이동 될 수 있는 조사 부위의 광학적 중심을 각각 갖는 일련의 조사 영역들의 패턴을 결정하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 픽셀 레이아웃 패턴 결정 방법.
  5. 다수의 픽셀(30)을 포함하는 다수의 컬러 개별 레벨 디스플레이에서, 각 필셀은 다수의 조사되는 원색 서브-영역(15)을 포함하고, 각 서브 영역은 조사 상태 또는 비-조사 상태로 설정 될 수 잇는 다수의 조사영역(42-47)을 더 포함하며, 상기 조사 영역은 조사 부위의 광학적 중심을 각각 갖는 일련의 조사 레벨로 분할되고, 제1픽셀 방향은 상기 원색 서브-영역(15)의 조사 부위의 광학적 중심으로부터 이웃하는 대응한 원색 서브-영역(16,17)의 중심까지의 최단거리로서 정의되며, 상기 조사 부위의 광학적 중심은 각 레벨에 대해 상기 광학적 중심이 상기 제1방향과 실질적으로 직교하는 방향으로 이동될 때 상기 제1방향(17)에 대하여 실질적으로 일정하게 유지되는 것을 특징으로 하는 다수의 컬러 개별 레벨 디스플레이용 픽셀 레이아웃 패턴(20).
  6. 제1 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 다수의 원색은 적색, 녹색 및 청색을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
