Abstract

본 발명은 액정 셀의 복굴절(음 또는 양)의 전압 제어(0이상의 여진전압)에 근거한 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치에 관한 것이다 상기 장치에서 지반(접지(판)은 투명하게 전도성 코팅 ‘f’이 된 이리듐 주석 산화물과 같은 1조각의 유리 ‘e’를 포함한다. 집적회로가 그 위에 집적된 실리콘 웨이퍼 ‘g’에는 액정 분자들 ‘i’를 정렬시키기 위하여 중합체 코팅 ‘h’이 되어 있다. 또한 상기 고팅된 유리 ‘e’에는 액정분자들을 정렬시키기 위한 코팅 ‘j’이 되어있다.
화소를 아주 작게 만들 수 있어 전체 칩의 크기를 아주 작게 할 수 있으며 고해상도를 얻을 수 있는 효과가 있다.

제1도는 본 발명에 따른 MOS트랜지스터와 금속 전극이 표시된 능동 매트릭스 표시장치의 개략도,
제2도는 다층물질드이 표시된 화소(畵素)의 단면도.

Claims (21)

  1. 반사형태로 작동할 수 있는 능동 매트릭스 통제가능 표시 요소인 다수의 화소를 가지는 회전성 복굴절 표시셀을 특징으로 하는 전기광학 장치로서, 입사되는 전자기 에너지가 상기 셀을 다수회 횡단하고 각 화소의 온/오프 상태에 의해서 영이 아닌 여진 전압을 필요로 하는 전기광학장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 셀에 전압을 가함으로써, 비-복굴절 상태에서 작동가능한 전기광학장치.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 액정 표시장치를 포함하는 표시장치에 특징이 있는 전기광학장치.
  4. 제1항 내지 제3항의 어느 한 항에 있어서, 입사하는 에너지가 2회 횡단할 수 있게하는 장치를 특징으로 하는 전기광학장치.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 금속 전극 반사기 장치(d)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기광학장치.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 알루미늄을 포함하는 금속 전극 반사기 장치(d)를 특징으로 하는 전기광학장치.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, 실리콘 칩(chip)이 지니고 있는 패널(panel)에 특징이 있는 전기광학장치.
  8. 능동매트릭스 액정 표시장치로서 상기 제1항부터 제7항까지의 어느 항에서 묘사한 특징이 있는 능동매트릭스 액정표시장치.
  9. 제8항에 있어서, 입사광을 선형적으로 편광광선으로 만드는 편광기를 특징으로 하는 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 각기 입사광을 다수배의 파장에서 선형적으로 편광되게 한 다수의 광을 만들어 내는 다수개의 편광기를 특징으로 하는 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치.
  11. 제9항 또는 제10항에 있어서, 하나의 프리즘 또는 복수의 프리즘을 포함하는 편광기를 특징으로 하는 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치.
  12. 제11항에 있어서, 입방체를 형성하기 위한 두개의 프리즘을 포함하는 편광기를 특징으로 하는 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치.
  13. 제9항에 있어서, 쉬트 또는 얇은 필름 편광기를 포함하는 편광기를 특징으로 하는 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치.
  14. 제8항 내지 제13항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 컬러 표시장치를 제공하기 위한 장치를 특징으로 하는 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치.
  15. 제14항에 있어서, 상기 컬러장치는 하나이상의 색필터를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치.
  16. 제8항 내지 제15항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 액정분자를 배열하기 위한 코팅을 특징으로 하는 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치.
  17. 제8항 내지 제16항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 결정실리콘을 기본으로 하는 액체 셀을 특징으로 하는 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치,
  18. 제8항 내지 제17항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 투명한 전도성 코팅이 된 유리판을 포함하는 접지판을 특징으로 하는 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치.
  19. 제15항에 있어서, 인듐 주석 산화물 코팅을 포함하는 전도성 코팅을 특징으로 하는 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치.
  20. 제1항 내지 제19항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 광원을 특징으로 하는 표시장치.
  21. 제7항 내지 제19항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 능동 매트릭스 액정 표시장치를 특징으로 하는 장치.
