Abstract

본 발명은 알루미나-탄화규소체 불소성 내화물이나 탄소함유 내화물의 산화방지를 위해 첨가되는 탄화규소 분말 대신에 사용할 수 있는 알루미나-탄화규소 복합분체의 제조방법을 제공하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다.
본 발명은 탄화규소 함유 내화 원료 제조방법에 있어서, 알루미나와 산화규소로 이루어진 평균입경 44㎛ 이하의 카올린(Kaolin, Al2o3·2Slo2·2H2O) 중에 포함된 SiO21몰%에 대하여, 각각 알루미늄 금속분말 0.3-1.0몰%와 탄소함유량이 4-6몰%로 구성된 카올린-탄소계 화합물을 알곤 또는 환원성 분위기에서 1400-1500℃로 3-5시간 열처리하여, 탄화규소의 입자크기가 2㎛ 이하인 Al2O3-SiC 복합분체를 제조하는 방법을 그 요지로 한다.
본 발명으로 제조된 복합분체는 입경이 작고, 반응성이 우수한 β-SiC가 생성되기 때문에, Al2O3-SiC-C계 불소성 내화물이나 탄소함유 내화물용 내화원료로 사용하면 내산화성이 우수한 내화물을 제조하는데 효과적이다.

Claims (1)

  1. 탄화규소 함유 내화원료 제조방법에 있어서, 알루미나(Al2O3)와 산화규소(SiO2)로 이루어진 평균입경 44㎛ 이하의 카올린(Kaolin, Al2O3·2SiO2·2H2O)중에 함유된 SiO21몰%에 대하여, 0.3 내지 1.0몰%의 알루미나 금속분말과 탄소함유량이 4 내지 6몰%가 되도록, 타르, 피치, 레진, 카본블랙 및 흑연으로 이루어진 탄소공급원 그룹중에서 선택된 1종 또는 2종 이상을 상기 카올린에 첨가하여 구성된 카올린-탄소계화합물을 알곤 또는 환원성 분위기에서 1400 내지 1500℃로 3 내지 5시간 열처리하는 것을 특징으로 하는 알루미나-탄화규소(Al2O3-SiC) 복합분체의 제조방법.
