Abstract

광원(14',14)으로 부터의 빛이 잘 조정된 빔으로 셀을 통해 반사되도록 셀 뒤에 위치한 경사진 굴절판 거울(16',16)을 사용하여 LCD 셀(12)의 콘트라스트가 더 좋게된다.
거울(16',16)은 제1 및 제2의 주요표면(36',36)을 갖는 광학규판(34',34)으로 이루어지고 후자는 거기에 코팅된 반사체(40',40)를 갖는다. 광학판 (34',34)은 경사진 굴절율을 갖고 그 굴절율이 그것의 제1표면에서 제2표면까지 증가된다. 그결과, 빛이 판으로들어가서 거기서 반사되고 판에 수직(42',41)으로 더욱 구부러지도록 굴절되어 거울에 남아있던 빛은 LCD 셀로 잘 조정되게 입력되어서 디스플레이 콘트라스트를 향상시킨다.

제2도는 본 발명의 바람직한 제1실시예에 따른 경사진 굴절판(index plate)거울을 구비한 LCD의 측단면도.
제3도는 본 발명에 따른 경사진 굴절판 거울의 바람직한 다른 실시예의 측단면도.

Claims (3)

  1. 광학 또는 영상 시스템 또는 그와 유사한 것의 사용을 위해, 잘 조정된 빔으로 시스템을 통해 거울상에 입사하는 빛을 반사하는 거울에 있어서, 시스템 반대편에 제1주요표면(36')와 시스템응로부터 떨어진 제1표면 반대편의 제2주요표면(38')을 구비한 광학 판(34')과, 제2주요표면이 표면에 부딪치는 빛은 반사하도록 하는 빛 반사체이고, 경사진 굴절율을 갖는 판이 그것의 제1표면에서 제2주요표면까지 증가되고 판을 통과한 빛이 제2주요표면상의 코팅된 반사체에 부닥쳐 반사되어 판을 통해 다시 반사되어 조정된 형태로 판을 통과하는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사용 거울.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 판은 그것의 중심에서 그것의 모서리까지 판의 몸체를 통해 후방으로 굴절율을 증가시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 거울.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 제2주요표면은 은(silver : 40')이 코팅된 빛 반사체를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 거울.
