Description

평판 디스플레이의 콘트라스트 자동 보정 회로
첨부된 도면 제1도는 본 고안에 따른 콘트라스트 자동 보정 회로를 보인 것이다.

본 고안은 평판 디스플레이(Display)의 콘트라스트(Contrast) 자동 보정 회로에 관한 것으로서, 특히 표시관의 외부광의 광도나 외부 온도에 따라 콘트라스트를 자동으로 보정하는 회로에 관한 것이다.
평판 디스플레이가 LCD 모듈을 사용하는 경우에 있어서, 상기 LCD 는 외부에서 광을 받아서 그것을 광학적인 변화를 표시하는 소자이다. 즉, 어두운 곳에서는 액정을 볼수 없기 때문에 어떤 방법으로든 조명광을 비추어 주지 않으면 안된다.
그런데 LCD 모듈을 채용한 평판 디스플레이의 외부광(조명광)이 강하거나 약할때는 디스플레이의 콘트라스트가 상대적으로 영향을 받으며, 또한 외부 온도가 변할때도 콘트라스트가 영향을 받게 되어 선명한 화면을 얻을 수 없었다.
따라서 본 고안은 상기와 같은 제반 결점을 해소하고자 창안한 것으로서, 평판 디스플레이에 있어서, 외부광이나 외부 온도 변화에 따라 콘트라스트를 보다 효율적으로 자동 보정하는 회로를 제공함에 그 목적이 있다.
상기의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 고안에 따른 콘트라스트 자동 보정 회로는 평판 디스플레이의 외부 광도 및 외부 온도를 감지하는 감지부와, 상기한 감지부에서 얻는 신호레벨에 따라 증폭도가 결정되는 증폭부와, 증폭된 신호에 의해서 평판 디스플레이 모듈(Module)에 공급되는 전압을 제어하는 제어부로 구성됨을 특징으로 한다.
이하, 본 고안을 더욱 구체화하여 상세히 기술하기로 한다.
본 고안에 따른 평판 디스플레이의 콘트라스트 자동 보정 회로는 제1도에 도시된 바와 같은 구성을 가지는데, 이를 살펴보면, 외부광의 광도에 따라 내부 저항이 변화는 광도전센서(CdS)로 된 광도감지부(10) 및 가변저항(VR)을 통한 전원전압(VEE)을 증폭부(30)내에 있는 에미터 플로워의 트랜지스터(Q1) 베이스단자에 인가되도록 연결하고, 상기 트랜지스터(Q1)의 에미터 단자에는 외부 온도에 따라 내부저항이 변화하는 서미스터(TH)로된 온도감지부(20)를 연결하며, 트랜지스터(Q1)이 콜렉터 단자에는 저항(R1)을 통한 전원전압(VEE)을 인가 되도록 연결한다. 한편 평한 디스플레이의 모듈에 전압을 공급하는 전압공급제어부(40)는 바이어스 저항(R2), (R3)과 증폭을 트랜지스터(Q2)로 구성이 되는데, 상기 트랜지스터(Q2)의 베이스 단자에는 증폭부(30)의 출력 신호가 상기 저항(R2), (E3)을 통해 인가되도록 연결하여 구성을 한다.
상기한 바와 같은 구성을 가진 콘트라스트 자동 보정 회로의 작동관계를 설명하면 다음과 같다.
본 고안에 따른 콘트라스트 보정 회로는 외부조건, 즉 외부광과 외부 온도에 따라 평판 디스플레이 모듈에 공급되는 전압을 제어하는데, 먼저 외부광의 광도가 변할때 작동 관계를 살펴보면, 외부광의 광도가 강하게 되면 광도감지부(10)내의 광도전센서(CdS)의 내부 저항값이 작아지므로 이에 따라 증폭부(30)의 트랜지스터(Q1) 베이스단자에 공급되는 전류가 증가하게 되는바, 트랜지스터(Q1)의 증폭작용에 의해 V1의 전압은 증가하게 된다.
따라서 전압공급제어부(40)내에 있는 트랜지스터(Q2)의 베이스 전압을 높임으로써 평판 디스플레이의 모듈에 공급되는 전압(Vout)을 제거하게 되며, 마찬가지로 외부광의 강도가 약하면 전술한 반대로 작동하여 모듈에 공급되는 전압(Vout)을 제어하여 콘트라스트를 보정한다.
한편, 외부 온도가 변할때 이에 따라 콘트라스트를 보정하는 작동 관계를 살펴보면, 외부 온도가 변하게 되면 온도 감지부(20)내에 있는 서미스터(TH)의 내부저항이 변하는바, 이에 따라 증폭부(20)의 출력전압(V1)도 변화게 되어 결국 전압공급제어부(40)에 있는 트랜지스터(Q2)의 베이스 단자에 인가되는 전압을 제거하게 됨으로써 결국 평판 디스플레이의 모듈에 공급되는 전압(Vout)도 제어되어 콘트라스트를 보정하게 된다.
상술한 바와 같이 작동하는 본 고안에 따른 회로를 LCD를 채용한 평판 디스플레이에 이용하면 외부 온도나 외부광에 따라 콘트라스트를 자동으로 조정하여 선명한 화면을 얻을 수 있다.

  1. LCD 모듈을 채용한 평판 디스플레이에 있어서, 평판 디스플레이의 외부광 및 외부온도 변화를 감지하는 광도감지부(10) 및 온도 감지부(20)와, 상기 각 감지부에서 얻는 신호레벨에 따라 증폭도가 결정되는 증폭부(30)와, 상기 증폭부(30)에서 증폭된 신호에 의해서 평판 디스플레이 모듈(Module)에 공급되는 전압을 제어하는 전압공급제어부(40)로 구성됨을 특징으로 하는 평판 디스플레이의 콘트라스트 자동 보정 회로.
