1 ㎎/㎖의 감마선을 조사하지 않은 알로에 추출물 및 감마선을 조사한 알로에 추출물 각각 500 ㎕에 0.2 mM DPPH 500 ㎕를 첨가하여 섞은 후 상온에서 30분간 반응시킨 후, 517 ㎚에서 흡광도를 측정하였다. 양성 대조군으로 아스코르빅산 (ascorbic acid)을 사용하였으며, 음성 대조군으로는 추출용매 40 % 에탄올을 사용하였다. DPPH 저해활성은 수학식 1에 따라 시료용액의 첨가군과 무첨가군의 흡광도 감소율로 나타내었다.

Claims (13)
A method of enhancing the antioxidant activity of the aloe extract comprising the step of irradiating the aloe extract.
The method of claim 1, wherein the aloe extract is a method of extracting dried aloe powder using water, alcohol or a mixture thereof as a solvent.
The method of claim 2 wherein the alcohol is a C 1 to C 4 lower alcohol.
The method of claim 1 wherein the radiation is any one selected from the group consisting of gamma rays, electron beams, UV and X-rays.
5. The method of claim 4, wherein said radiation is gamma rays.
The method of claim 5, wherein the gamma rays are emitted from any one radioisotope selected from the group consisting of cobalt (Co) -60, krypton (Kr) -85, strontium (Sr) -90 and cesium (Cs) -137 Characterized in that the method.
7. The method of claim 6, wherein the gamma rays are emitted from cobalt (Co) -60 radioisotopes.
The method of claim 1, wherein the radiation is irradiated at a dose of 1-100 kGy.
