Description
Claims (14)
- 도전성 양극(anode)과 도전성 음극(cathode) 사이에 발광층을 갖는 기판을 포함하는 유기 발광 다이오드(OLED)로서, 상기 다이오드는 상기 음극을 통해 광을 방출하도록 구성되고, 상기 음극은 다이오드의 발광 파장에서 투과성이고, 상기 음극은 상기 발광 파장에서 상기 음극을 통한 광 투과를 향상시키도록 구성된 광학 간섭 구조체(optical interference structure)를 포함하는 유기 발광 다이오드(OLED).
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 음극이 상이한 굴절률의 제 1 및 제 3 층 사이에 놓인 광학 간섭층을 포함하되, 상기 광학 간섭층의 전방 표면 및 후방 표면으로부터의 반사가 상기 발광 파장에서 상기 음극을 통한 광 투과를 향상시키도록 간섭하는 유기 발광 다이오드.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 층이 상기 발광층으로 전자를 주입하기 위한 전자 주입층을 포함하고, 상기 제 3 층이 도전성 층을 포함하는 유기 발광 다이오드.
- 제 2 항 또는 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 광학 간섭층이 상기 발광 파장의 1/3 내지 1/5의 광학 두께를 갖는 유기 발광 다이오드.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 광학 간섭층이 실질적으로 상기 발광 파장의 1/4의 광학 두께를 갖는 유기 발광 다이오드.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 5 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 발광 파장이 상기 발광층의 피크 또는 중심 발광 파장과 실질적으로 동일한 유기 발광 다이오드.
- 제 2 항 내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 제 3 층이 금속층을 포함하는 유기 발광 다이오드.
- 제 2 항 내지 제 7 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 광학 간섭층이 넓은 밴드갭(bandgap) 반도체, 바람직하게는 아연 셀레나이드 또는 질화갈륨을 포함하는 유기 발광 다이오드.
- 제 2 항 내지 제 7 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 광학 간섭층이 투명 도체, 바람직하게는 인듐 주석 산화물 또는 인듐 아연 산화물을 포함하는 유기 발광 다이오드.
- 제 2 항 내지 제 7 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 광학 간섭층이 유전성 물질을 포함하는 유기 발광 다이오드.
- 제 2 항 내지 제 10 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 전자 주입층이 금속의 층을 포함하는 유기 발광 다이오드.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 11 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 유기 발광 다이오드를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 각각이 양극과 음극 전극층 사이에 협지된 OLED 물질의 층을 포함하는 하나 이상의 OLED를 포함하는 OLED계 디스플레이 장치로서,상기 OLED 물질은 전류가 상기 양극과 음극 전극층 사이를 통과할 때 전기발광하며, 상기 전극층 중 제 1 전극층은 상기 전기발광의 피크 파장에서 적어도 부분적으로 투과성이고 상기 전극층 중 제 2 전극층보다 상기 장치의 표시 표면에 가까워 상기 장치는 상기 제 1 전극층을 통하여 전기발광 표시를 하도록 구성되고, 상기 제 1 전극층은 상기 OLED 물질에 연결하기 위한 커플링 층(coupling layer)과 실질적으로 도전성인 제 3 층 사이에 협지된 스페이서 층(spacer layer)을 포함하고, 상기 스페이서 층은 상기 피크 전기발광 파장에서의 상기 제 1 전극층을 통한 투과율이 실질적으로 최대화되도록 상기 피크 전기발광 파장에서 대략 1/4 파장의 홀수 배의 두께를 갖는 OLED계 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 13 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 전극층이 상기 음극 전극층인 OLED계 디스플레이 장치.
