Example>
The present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
참조 부호 2는 CPU(1)에 의해 실행되는 프로그램을 기억한 ROM(read-only memory)을 나타낸다. 참조 부호 3은 데이터 기억용 불휘발성 RAM(volatile random-access memory)을 나타내며, CPU(1)에 의해 실행되는 통신·통화 처리에 사용되는 각종 데이터를 일시 기억함과 함께, 악곡 데이터 편집 처리에 사용되는 복수의 악곡 데이터, 및 SMAF(Synthetic music Mobile Application Format : 등록 상표) Script를 기억한다. Fig. 1 is a block diagram showing the schematic configuration of a portable telephone incorporating a music data editing and reproducing apparatus according to the first embodiment of the present invention. In Fig. 1,
SMAF(Synthetic music Mobile Application Format)란 휴대 전화나 PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) 등의 휴대 단말기용 멀티미디어 콘텐츠를 정의하기 위해, 야마하 주식회사에서 설계한 데이터 형식 사양으로, 예를 들면, 착신 멜로디용 악곡 데이터를 기술하기 위해 사용된다. FIG. 2 is a diagram showing an example of music data and SMAF Script stored in the
각 악곡 데이터는, 소정의 시간 정보를 갖는 이벤트의 집합으로서 기술되어 있으며, 예를 들면, 전주(introduction part), A 멜로디(part-A melody), B 멜로디(part-B melody), 클라이막스(musical climax or chorus part), 및 엔딩 등의 소정 구간 이벤트에 의해 구성된다. In Fig. 2, File1.mmf and File2.mmf each represent a file name of music data for one piece. Each piece of music data is described as a set of events having predetermined time information, and for example, an introduction part, a part-A melody, a part-B melody, and a climax (for example). musical climax or chorus part), and ending interval events. These are held as tag format data such as IN, AM, BM, SB, and EN. The SMAF can also store, as its optional function, data specifying the playback section as a phase list. When music data is created, the playback section is designated by describing the start address and the stop address (both indicate the address of the sequence data) following the tag name (prelude or A melody) in the Phase List.
SMAF Script is a text file that distinguishes the type of description by <> definition. That is, the description after <INFO> represents file information in the SMAF Script file. Note that the description after <PLAY> indicates the file name of music data to be reproduced or the order of reproduction of section events (tags) in the music file. The music data file name and the section event in the music data file are linked with file names of music data such as File1.mmf and File2.mmf and tags stored in the music data. In addition, the tag is enclosed in [], and after that, "* number" is described, so that the number of times of the event of the section enclosed in [] is specified. For example, the technique of [AM, SB] * 2 in FIG. 2 means that the A melody event and the climax event are reproduced twice.
Next, the operation of the cellular phone to which the music data editing and reproducing apparatus according to the present embodiment is applied will be described. Since the communication and call processing in this mobile phone are the same as in the prior art, the description thereof is omitted. The music data editing and reproducing processing of this mobile phone will be described below.

(3) Using a plurality of pieces of music data as the material, the user can organize the music data of the preference accordingly. For example, a new incoming melody can be created based on the incoming melody already stored in the cellular phone.
(4) The function of the present invention can be applied as an application of a mobile phone, whereby desired music data according to various situations can be constructed based on a small number of music data. As a result, the memory usage efficiency can be improved in a small portable information terminal such as a cellular phone.

The present invention need not be limited to the above embodiments, and various designs can be changed and applied. For example, the music data editing / reproducing apparatus according to each embodiment can be applied as follows.
(a) Application to incoming melody of mobile phone. In other words, the user can create a piece of music by using the music data for the incoming melody already downloaded by the user and stored in the
(b) The user can create a piece of music by using the existing piece of music data registered and maintained via the network as the material. The technique can also be applied not only to mobile phones but also to personal computers connected to a network.
(c) Register the SMAF Script as an incoming melody. Accordingly, a new incoming melody can be defined based on the existing music data downloaded to the mobile phone.
(d) Apply SMAF Script to games written in Java. As a result, the same piece of music data can be used for various game scenes, thereby improving memory usage efficiency.
(e) The SMAF Script is used as a replay trigger and indicates values such as time and battery level. For example, SMAF Script to be played back at a predetermined time is set in advance. It is also possible to set to play a specific SMAF Script when the battery level reaches a predetermined value. Accordingly, by using only one piece of music data, the playback section can be changed in accordance with time, or the playback section can be changed in accordance with the remaining battery capacity, thereby providing a new service for the user.
In the above embodiment, the SMAF Script is used to create a medley piece of music, but the playing part of each musical instrument included in the piece of music may be designated using the SMAF Script. For example, File1.mmf specifies music data according to a first drum part that stores only a drum part consisting of a predetermined drum playing pattern, and File2.mmf includes parts of a musical instrument other than the drum part (melody part). Music data according to the second drum part representing a drum playing pattern different from the first drum part, and File3.mmf specifies music data according to the second drum part. Specifies a playback section such as SB and EN. Here, a technique of simultaneously playing back arbitrary portions of each file is given to the SMAF Script. For example, the following technique may be performed.
<PLAY>00000 File2.mmf IN & File1.mmf IN00001 File2.mmf AM & File3.mmf AM <PLAY> 00000 File2.mmf IN & File1.mmf IN00001 File2.mmf AM & File3.mmf AM
상기 기술에 의하면, File2.mmf의 IN 부분을 재생하고 있을 때에, File1.mmf의 IN부를 동시에 재생하고, 또한, File2.mmf의 IN부의 재생이 종료되면, 계속해서 File2.mmf의 AM부를 재생하고, 동시에 File3.mmf의 AM부를 재생한다. According to the above technique, when the IN portion of File2.mmf is played back, the IN portion of File1.mmf is played back simultaneously, and when the IN portion of File2.mmf is finished playing, the AM portion of File2.mmf is continuously played. At the same time, the AM section of File3.mmf is played. That is, the playback can be performed by freely combining the desired playback sections of each performance part of the piece of music. In such a reproduction method, for example, by changing the stored contents of File1.mmf, the variation of the music can also be changed at the same time. In addition, in the above description, the symbol "&" executes the description contents after the symbol during execution of the description contents before the symbol, that is, the reproduction of the next piece of music data during the reproduction of the first piece of music data. I mean.
Furthermore, a unique identifier (ID) for specifying the music data can be included in the music data. That is, the music data file may be designated by SMAF Script using the ID.
Further, the present invention has a remarkable effect in the generation of the incoming melody in the mobile phone, in particular in the operation of generating the desired music by the user.
According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a music data editing and reproducing apparatus capable of designating an arbitrary portion of a piece of music desired by a user and generating a medley piece of music, and to provide a portable information terminal to which the music data editing and reproducing apparatus is applied.
