프로그램 추천 기능을 구비한 영상 수신기 및 프로그램 추천 방법{PICTURE RECEIVER HAVING PROGRAM RECOMMENDING FUNCTION AND PROGRAM RECOMMENDING METHOD}
본원 발명은 프로그램 추천 기능을 구비한 영상 수신기 및 전자 프로그램 리스트의 프로그램 정보를 축적하고 이용자에게 이용자의 선행 시청 정보 및 링크 정보(linking information)에 따라 추천 프로그램을 제공하는 프로그램 추천 방법에 관한 것이다.
종래에는, 전자 프로그램 리스트의 프로그램 정보를 축적할 수 있는 영상 수신기에 대하여, 지금까지 “이용자에 의해 선택된 프로그램” 및 “이용자에 의해 보다 긍정적으로 선택된 프로그램”과 같은 정보에 따라 프로그램 추천 프로세스를 실행하며, 결과를 디스플레이하고 추천 프로그램을 자동 기록하는 기능을 제공하는 영상 수신기가 실현되어 있다. 그러한 영상 수신기는 예를 들면 일본 특개평10-257405에 개시되어 있다.
프로그램 정보를 축적하는 프로그램 정보 축적 수단과;
현재의 시청 프로그램의 프로그램 정보를 획득하는 시청 정보 획득 수단과;
상기 프로그램 정보 축적 수단으로부터의 프로그램 정보와 상기 시청 정보 획득 수단으로부터의 현재의 시청 프로그램의 프로그램 정보와 소정된 추천 표준에 따라, 소정의 시간 내에 방송중이거나 방송될 추천 프로그램을 지정하는 프로그램 추천 수단과;
상기 프로그램 추천 수단으로부터의 정보에 따라, 추천 프로그램과 현재의 시청 프로그램의 두 영상을 디스플레이하는 영상 디스플레이 수단을 포함하는 영상 수신기가 제공된다.
프로그램 정보를 축적하는 단계와;
현재의 시청 프로그램의 프로그램 정보를 획득하는 단계와;
축적된 프로그램 정보와, 현재의 시청 프로그램의 프로그램 정보와, 소정된 추천 표준에 따라, 소정의 시간 내에 방송중이거나 방송될 추천 프로그램을 지정하는 단계와;

영상 수신기에서, 이용자가 프로그램을 시청하고 있는 동안 다른 채널에서 추천 프로그램이 시작되는 경우, 이용자에게 이를 명료하고 효과적으로 고지할 필요가 있다.
그런데, 이용자가 프로그램을 시청하고 있는 동안 다른 채널에서 추천 프로그램이 시작될 때, 이용자에게 추천 프로그램을 고지하는 한 방법으로써, 프로그램명, 시작시간, 채널명 등을 포함하는 메시지를 통하여 추천 프로그램의 시작을 이용자가 고지 받는 방법이 가능하다.
그러나, 상기 고지 방법에서는, 이용자가 채널을 선택하는 것, 및 이용자가 정말로 추천 프로그램을 좋아하는지 여부를 판단하기 위하여 추천 프로그램을 실제로 시청하는 것이 필요하다는 문제점이 존재한다.
본원 발명에서는, 상기 상황을 고려하여, 이용자가 프로그램을 시청하고 있는 동안 다른 채널에서 추천 프로그램이 시작될 때 두 영상이 자동으로 디스플레이 된다. 따라서, 본원 발명의 목적은 하나의 스크린에서 프로그램을 시청하면서, 디스플레이되는 두 개의 프로그램으로부터 하나를 선택할 수 있는 영상 수신기 및 프로그램 추천 방법을 제공하는 것이다.
본원 발명은 이하에서 바람직한 실시예와 함께 기재될 것이다.
[바람직한 실시예 1]
도1은 본원 발명의 바람직한 실시예 1에서의 영상 수신기의 구조를 도시하는 블록도이다. 영상 수신기(100)는 프로그램 정보 축적부(101), 시청 정보 획득부(102), 프로그램 추천부(103), 영상 제어부(104), 영상 디스플레이부(105) 및 리모콘(106)을 포함한다.
도1에서 언급되지는 않았지만, 영상 수신기(100)는 다수의 튜너, 복조 회로, 비디오 및 오디오 처리 회로도 포함한다. 영상 수신기(100)가 디지털 방송과 호환가능한 경우에는, TS 디코더, 비디오 디코더 및 오디오 디코더를 구비하는 것이 일반적이다.
튜너는 원하는 고주파 신호를 가져오면서 수신 채널의 주파수 대역에 동조시키며, 고주파 신호의 복조 또는 오차 보정을 실행한다. 그리고, TS 스트림(전송 스트림)을 출력한다. TS 스트림은 TS 디코더 등에 공급된다.
TS 디코더는 TS 스트림을 복호화하며, TS 스트림을 비디오 스트림, 오디오 스트림, 및 다른 보조 데이터로 분리한다. 비디오 디코더는 TS 디코더로부터의 비디오 스트림에 기초하여 비디오 신호를 복구한다. 오디오 디코더는 TS 디코더로부터의 오디오 스트림에 기초하여 오디오 신호를 복구한다. 비디오 디코더에 의해 복구된 비디오 신호는 영상 제어부(104)에 공급된다. 다수의 튜너가 제공되므로, 다수의 비디오 신호가 영상 제어부(104)에 공급된다. 한편, TS 디코더로부터의 다수의 보조 데이터는 프로그램 정보 축적부(101)에 공급된다.
프로그램 정보 축적부(101)는 프로그램 정보 축적 수단의 한 예이다. 전술한 것처럼, TS 디코더로부터의 보조 데이터의 적어도 일부는 프로그램 정보 축적부(101)에 공급된다. 프로그램 정보 축적부(101)는 공급되는 보조 데이터에서 추출된 프로그램 정보에 관한 원하는 데이터를 축적한다. 프로그램 정보에 관한 데이터는 방송자, 방송 채널, 방송 시간, 프로그램명, 개요, 캐스팅 정보, 및 키워드 등의 정보를 포함한다.

프로그램 추천부(103)는 프로그램 추천 수단의 한 예이다. 프로그램 추천부(103)는 프로그램 정보 축적부(101)로부터 프로그램 정보를 획득하며, 시청 정보 획득부(102)로부터 시청 정보를 획득한다. 프로그램 추천부(103)는 지정된 알고리즘에 따라 시청 정보를 분석하고 영상 수신기(100)를 이용하는 이용자의 선행 시청 정보 및 링크 정보로부터 시청자의 링크 또는 기호를 추측한다. 그리고, 프로그램 추천부(103)는 추측된 시청자의 링크 또는 기호를 프로그램 정보 축적부(101)로부터의 프로그램 정보와 비교하고, 시청자의 링크 또는 기호와 부합하는 추천 프로그 램을 지정한다.
영상 제어부(104) 및 영상 디스플레이부(105)는 영상 디스플레이 수단을 구성한다. 영상 제어부(104) 및 영상 디스플레이부(105)는 영상 디스플레이 수단의 한 구성예이다.

리모콘(106)은 이용자의 입력 수단의 일예이다. 이용자는 리모콘(106)을 동작하여 영상 디스플레이 수단에 이용자의 입력 정보를 입력한다. 구체적으로는, 입력 정보는 영상 제어부(104)에 입력되고, 영상 제어부(104)는 입력 정보에 따라 추천 프로그램이나 현재의 시청 프로그램에 관한 하나의 영상 디스플레이로 모드를 전환시키는 제어를 실행한다.
이용자의 입력 수단은 리모콘(106)으로 한정되지 않는다. 예를 들면, 이용자가 영상 수신기(100)에 배치된 제어부를 동작시키는 것이 가능하다.
이러한 식으로, 영상 수신기(100)는 추천 프로그램이 시작할 때 두 개의 튜너를 이용자하여 두 개의 영상을 자동으로 디스플레이함으로써, 이용자에게 추천 프로그램의 시작을 고지한다.
도2는 영상 수신기의 동작을 도시하는 흐름도이다. 영상 수신기의 추천 프로그램 고지 프로세스는 도1, 도2, 및 도3을 참조하여 다음에 추가로 기재될 것이다.
전술한 것처럼, 프로그램 정보 축적부(101)와 시청 정보 획득부(102)의 정보는 우선 프로그램 추천부(103)에 입력된다. 프로그램 추천부(103)는 프로그램 정보 및 시청 정보 입력을 소정의 추천 표준(이용자의 선행 시청 정보 및 링크 정보)에 따라 평가하고 추천 프로그램이 방송중인지 여부 또는 추천 프로그램이 특정 시간내에 시작되는지 여부를 판단한다.
추천 프로그램이 방송중이거나 특정 시간내에 시작될 때(S201), 추천 프로그램의 채널이 시청되고 있는지 여부가 판단된다(S202). 추천 프로그램의 채널이 시청되고 있을 때(S202에서 No), 추천 프로그램 정보 프로세스가 종료되고, 스크린은 추천 프로그램 시청 모드로 전환된다.
한편, 추천 프로그램이 아닌 채널이 시청되는 때(S202에서 Yes), 영상 제어부(104)는 두 개의 영상 프로세스(S203)를 시작한다. 즉, 도3에 도시된 것처럼, 스크린은 현재의 시청 프로그램의 채널은 왼쪽 스크린(메인 스크린; 301)에 디스플레이되는 한편, 추천 프로그램의 채널은 오른쪽 스크린(서브 스크린; 302)에 디스플레이되는, 두 개의 영상 디스플레이 모드(S204)로 전환된다. 동시에, 추천 프로 그램의 시작을 나타내는 메시지(303)와 리모콘(106)을 사용하여 현재의 시청 프로그램이나 추천 프로그램의 어느 하나를 선택하기 위한 리모콘 동작 안내(304)가 디스플레이된다(S205).
이용자가 리모콘(106)을 이용하여 추천 프로그램을 선택할 때, 또는 “결정” 키를 누를 때(S206에서 Yes), 영상 제어부(104)는 두 개의 영상 모드로부터 하나의 영상 모드로 스크린을 전환하고, 또한 추천 프로그램(S207)의 채널로 채널을 변경하도록 기능하며, 이로써 스크린을 추천 프로그램 시청 모드로 전환한다.

Claims (6)

  1. 프로그램 정보를 축적하는 프로그램 정보 축적 수단과;
    현재의 시청 프로그램의 프로그램 정보를 획득하는 시청 정보 획득 수단과;
    상기 프로그램 정보 축적 수단으로부터의 프로그램 정보와, 상기 시청 정보 획득 수단으로부터의 현재의 시청 프로그램의 프로그램 정보와, 소정된 추천 표준에 따라, 소정의 시간 내에 방송중이거나 방송될 추천 프로그램을 지정하는 프로그램 추천 수단과;
    상기 프로그램 추천 수단으로부터의 정보에 따라, 추천 프로그램과 현재의 시청 프로그램의 두 영상을 디스플레이하는 영상 디스플레이 수단을 포함하는 영상 수신기.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 프로그램 추천 수단은, 추천 프로그램이 현재의 시청 프로그램과 일치하는지 여부를 판단하고,
    상기 영상 디스플레이 수단은, 프로그램 추천 수단이 추천 프로그램과 현재의 시청 프로그램이 일치하지 않는다고 판단하는 때에만 두 개의 영상 디스플레이를 실행하는, 영상 수신기.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
    이용자의 입력을 수신하는 이용자의 입력 수단을 더 포함하며,
    영상 디스플레이 수단은, 이용자의 입력 수단으로부터의 입력 정보에 따라 추천 프로그램이나 현재의 시청 프로그램 중 어느 하나의 영상 디스플레이로 모드를 전환하는, 영상 수신기.
  4. 프로그램 정보를 축적하는 단계와;
    현재의 시청 프로그램의 프로그램 정보를 획득하는 단계와;
    축적된 프로그램 정보와, 현재의 시청 프로그램의 프로그램 정보와, 소정된 추천 표준에 따라, 소정의 시간 내에 방송중이거나 방송될 추천 프로그램을 지정하는 단계와;
    지정된 상기 추천 프로그램과 현재의 시청 프로그램의 두 영상을 디스플레이하는 단계를 포함하는 프로그램 추천 방법.
  5. 제4항에 있어서,
    상기 두 영상을 디스플레이하는 단계는, 추천 프로그램이 현재의 시청 프로그램과 일치하지 않을 때, 추천 프로그램과 현재의 시청 프로그램의 두 개의 영상을 디스플레이하는, 프로그램 추천 방법.
  6. 제4항 또는 제5항에 있어서,
    이용자의 입력에 따라서, 두 개의 영상 디스플레이로부터 추천 프로그램이나 현재의 시청 프로그램의 하나의 영상 디스플레이로 모드를 전환하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 프로그램 추천 방법.
