Abstract

PURPOSE: The flexible connector for a retaining wall is provided to obtain an ideal structure offering an easy installment, a strong connection and a high elasticity, moreover to promote the efficiency of drainage. CONSTITUTION: The flexible connector for a retaining wall contains: empty spaces(2,2');a access hole(3); a flexible member(1) with drain holes(5) draining out water from a retaining wall through the empty space; a couple of bent steel plates(6) inserted into the access holes; an anchor bolt(9) embedded into cement mortar(11) and tightly fixing the bent plate and the flexible member; a groove(10) formed on the center of the front and back of the flexible member to promote elasticity, therefore the member becomes expansible or contractible in proportion to the variation of the retaining wall caused by temperature.
