'100 및 '915 특허들에서 개시된 바와 같이, 그러한 시스템들은 서비스 공급자의 호스트 처리기와 이동 전화기 사이에 필요한 호출 트래픽을 최소화하고 따라서, 이동 전화 시스템의 전체 트래픽 처리 능력을 확대시킨다. 증가하는 이용의 용이함과 더 낮은 비용들로 인해, 이동 전화기들의 확산 및 이용이 계속될 것이다. 오늘날의 많은 회사들은 여전히 피고용인들로 접촉하도록 보장하기 위하여 피고용인들에게 이동 전화기들을 제공한다. 두 개의 이동 전화기들을 휴대하는 것은 매우 비실용적이므로, 이들 피고용인들은 사업용 및 개인용 호출들 모두에 대해 부득이하게 그들 회사 제공 이동 전화기들을 이용하려고 한다. 따라서, 남용들을 방지하고 및/또는 정확한 거래를 제공하기 위해, 회사 제공 이동 전화기들의 적당한 이용 및 거래 활동들을 모니터링하는 능력을 갖는 것이 바람직하다.
더욱이, 오늘날 시장에 나온 어떤 이동 전화기들은 2-라인 또는 다중-라인 성능을 제공한다. 2-라인 전화기로, 두 전화 라인들은 호출들의 제 1 타입 및 제 2 타입을 각각 처리하는데 전용일 수 있다. 결과적으로, 서로 다른 타입들의 호출들에 대한 거래 활동들은 별도로 모니터링되어야 할 수 있다. 따라서, 무선 장치들에 대한 서로 다른 타입들의 이용 및 거래 활동들을 처리하고 모니터링할 수 있는 이동 전화 시스템을 제공하는 것이 바람직하다.
본 출원은 2000년 7월 21일에 출원된 미국 가특허 출원 일련번호 제 60/220,241호로부터 35 U.S.C.§119하에 우선권의 이점을 청구하며, 그 개시된 내용은 모든 목적들을 위해 전체적으로 참조로서 통합되어 있다.

계정 관리 시스템은 내부로 무선 장치에 휴대된, 다양한 계정들을 관리하는 계정 관리 애플리케이션을 포함한다. 이 계정 관리 애플리케이션은 지방 요금들을 밝히기 위해 다중팩터 회계 프로토콜을 갖는 복합 과금 알고리즘, 무선 장치가 하나의 구역에서 다른 구역으로 이동할 때의 로밍 요금들(roaming charges), 장거리 요금들, 국가 독립의 지방 요금들을 포함하는 국제 요금들 및 매 호출시마다 또는 기본 요금일 수 있는 특별 부과세(surcharges)와 같은 하나 또는 그 이상의 회계 애플리케이션들과 상호작용한다. 상기 복합 과금 알고리즘은 서비스 제공자들의 특별 요금들 또는 호출국들 또는 특별 할인들 또는 데이터 전송 호출들을 위한 할증금들을 수용하도록 확대될 수 있다.
이동 전화 사용에 관련된 회계 애플리케이션들은 요금표를 포함할 수 있다. 무선 장치에서의 요금표는 서비스 제공자의 호스트 프로세서 또는 고객 서비스 대리인과의 무선 통신에 의해 주기적으로 갱신될 수 있다. m-커머스 트랜잭션들에 관한 회계 애플리케이션들은 미리 규정된 통신 프로토콜로부터 매각인의 트랜잭션 장치 또는 고객 서비스 대리인에 공제될 계정을 얻는다.
회계 애플리케이션들이 무선 장치에서나 이 무선 장치를 이용할 수 있는 네트워크 상에 존재할 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 설계서 또는 속박들에 의하면, 계정 관리 애플리케이션의 기능성은 회계 애플리케이션에 합병될 수 있다.
계정 관리 시스템을 갖는 무선 장치가 네트워크에 대한 실제 변경 없이 기존의 무선 통신 네트워크들로 구현될 수 있고, 주로 무선 장치의 내부 재프로그래밍에 의해, 최소 변경을 갖는 대부분의 기존의 무선 장치들로 구현될 수 있음을 또한 알 수 있다. 대부분의 기존의 무선 장치들에 대한 변경은, 네트워크 상에 존재하는 기존의 회계 애플리케이션들이 무선 장치에 의해 이용될 때 더욱 더 최소이다.
이동 전화와 같은 무선 장치는 일반적으로 내부 프로세서 및 충분한 내부 메모리를 포함하여, 실시간 회계를 달성하는데 필수적인 프로그래밍과 데이터 저장장치를 합병한다. 호출 데이터의 저장 및 프로세싱이 심지어 로밍 폰을 위해 다중 서비스 제공자들로부터 다중 요금들을 밝히기 위해 충분한 정확성과 함께 실시간으로 가능하게 되는 다중팩터 회계 능력들을 제공하는 복합 알고리즘들 및 계정 관리 애플리케이션은 충분히 치밀하다. 회계 및 계정 관리 애플리케이션들(account management applications)은 보안 프로그래밍과 공중(airways)의 트랜잭션들을 허용하는 암호화 시스템(encryption system)을 이용해야 한다.

    상기 계정 관리 애플리케이션은 다수의 계정들을 관리하도록 구성되고,
    상기 무선 장치에 의해 수행되는 각 과금 가능한 동작은 상기 다수의 계정들 중 하나에 선택적으로 청구되는, 시스템.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 사용자로 하여금 상기 무선 장치에 의해 수행되는 각 과금 가능한 동작이 어떻게 상기 다수의 계정들 중 하나에 대해 선택적으로 청구되는지를 결정할 수 있도록 구성되는 사용자 인터페이스를 더 포함하는, 시스템.

    상기 이용 한도를 초과할 때, 상기 무선 장치에 의해 수행할 수 있는 상기 다수의 과금 가능한 동작들은 제한되는, 시스템.
  15. 다수의 과금 가능한 동작들을 수행하도록 구성되는 무선 장치에 있어서,
    상기 무선 장치에 상주하고, 다수의 계정들을 유지하도록 구성되는 계정 관리 애플리케이션과;
    상기 무선 장치에 의해 수행되는 각 과금 가능한 동작에 대한 청구 금액들을 계산하도록 구성되는 회계 애플리케이션과;
    사용자로 하여금 상기 무선 장치에 의해 수행되는 각 과금 가능한 동작이 어떻게 상기 다수의 계정들 중 하나에 대해 선택적으로 청구되는지를 결정할 수 있도록 구성되는 사용자 인터페이스를 포함하고,
    상기 계정 관리 애플리케이션 및 상기 회계 애플리케이션은 상기 다수의 계정들을 관리하기 위해 서로 협력하여 기능하는, 무선 장치.
  16. 제 15 항에 있어서, 상기 다수의 과금 가능한 동작들은 음성 또는 데이터 통신을 행하거나 수신하는 것을 포함하는, 무선 장치.
  17. 제 16 항에 있어서, 상기 무선 장치에 의해 수행된 각 과금 가능한 동작이 어떻게 상기 다수의 계정들 중 하나에 대해 선택적으로 청구되는지는 상기 음성 또는 데이터 통신의 출처 또는 목적지에 의존하는, 무선 장치.

  24. 제 14 항에 있어서, 상기 다수의 계정들 중 적어도 하나는 이용 한도를 가지며,
    상기 이용 한도가 초과되는 경우, 상기 무선 장치에 의해 수행할 수 있는 상기 다수의 과금 가능한 동작들이 제한되는, 무선 장치.
  25. 이동 전화에 있어서,
    호출들을 행하고 수신하도록 구성된 제 1 라인 및 제 2 라인과,
    상기 이동 전화에 상주하고, 다수의 계정들을 관리하도록 구성된 계정 관리 애플리케이션을 포함하고,
    상기 제 1 라인을 통해 행해지거나 수신된 호출들은 상기 다수의 계정들 중 하나에 청구되고, 상기 제 2 라인을 통해 행해지거나 수신된 호출들은 상기 다수의 계정들 중 또 다른 하나에 청구되는, 이동 전화.
  26. 제 25 항에 있어서, 상기 이동 전화에 의해 행해지거나 수신된 각각의 호출이 어떻게 상기 다수의 계정들 중 하나에 청구되는지를 사용자로 하여금 선택적으로 결정하도록 구성된 사용자 인터페이스를 더 포함하는, 이동 전화.

    과금 가능한 동작에 대해 청구될 다수의 계정들 중 하나를 선택하는 단계로서, 상기 다수의 계정들은 상기 무선 장치상에 유지되는, 상기 선택 단계와,
    상기 과금 가능한 동작을 대해 지불될 청구 금액들을 계산하는 단계와,
    상기 무선 장치로 하여금 상기 과금 가능한 동작을 수행하도록 하는 단계와,
    상기 선택된 계정을 업데이팅하는 단계를 포함하는, 이동 전화.
  36. 제 35 항에 있어서, 상기 다수의 계정들 중 하나를 선택하는 상기 단계는,

    상기 호출에 대해 지불될 청구 금액들을 계산하는 단계와;
    상기 호출이 행해지거나 수신된 상기 제 1 및 제 2 라인들 중 하나에 의존하는 상기 계산된 청구 금액들에 기초한 상기 제 1 계정 또는 상기 제 2 계정 중 하나를 업데이트하는 단계를 포함하는, 방법.
