Claims (6)
- 기지국, 이동 차량 중계 유닛 및 휴대 유닛을 포함하며,상기 기지국은 높은 주파수 채널 부분을 통해 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛에 송신하며, 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛은 낮은 주파수 채널 부분을 통해 상기 기지국에 송신하고, 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛은 낮은 주파수 채널 부분을 통해 상기 휴대 유닛에 송신하고, 상기 휴대 유닛은 높은 주파수 채널 부분을 통해 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛에 송신하며,확장된 통신 동작 모드(extended coverage mode of operation)에서, 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛은 상기 휴대 유닛에 의해 송신된 액세스 요구에 응답하여, 상기 첫번째 및 두번째 주파수 채널 부분의 식별을 나타내는 신호를 상기 휴대 유닛에 송신하는 통신 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 휴대 유닛은 제 1 휴대 유닛이며, 상기 통신 시스템은 제 2 휴대 유닛을 더 포함하고, 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛은 상기 확장된 통신 동작 모드 동안 상기 첫번째 및 두번째 주파수 채널 부분의 식별을 나타내는 주파수 식별 신호 영역을 주기적으로 송신하도록 동작하며, 상기 제 2 휴대 유닛은 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛으로부터 상기 주파수 식별 신호를 수신할 때 상기 첫번째 주파수 채널을 통해 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛에 송신하도록 동작되는 통신 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛은 상기 확장된 통신 동작 모드에서 동작하기에 앞서 표지(beacon) 주파수 상에 가용성 통지 신호(availability announcement signal)를 주기적으로 송신하도록 구성되고, 선정된 지리적 영역내의 다수의 휴대 유닛은 액세스 요구를 송신하는 것에 앞서 상기 표지 주파수를 감시하도록 구성되는 통신 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 가용성 통지 신호는 동기화 블럭 시퀀스를 포함하고, 인접하는 동기화 블럭은 랜덤 기간의 비송신 구간에 의해 분할되는 통신 시스템.
- 제 4 항에 있어서, 상기 액세스 요구는 랜덤 기간의 비송신 구간에 선행되는 통신 시스템.
- 적어도 하나의 기지국, 이동 차량 중계 유닛 및 적어도 하나의 휴대 유닛을포함하는 통신 시스템의 통신 방법에 있어서,휴대 유닛과 상기 적어도 하나의 기지국들 중 하나 간에 통신을 설정하도록 시도하는 단계와,상기 주 휴대 유닛과 상기 적어도 하나의 기지국들 중 하나 간에 통신을 설정하려는 시도가 실패하면, 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛에 액세스 요구를 송신함으로써 확장된 통신 동작 모드로 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛의 동작을 개시하고, 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛은 높은 주파수 채널 부분 및 낮은 주파수 채널 부분의 식별을 나타내는 신호 영역을 송신하도록 상기 액세스 요구에 응답하는 단계와,상기 휴대 유닛이 상기 높은 주파수 채널 부분을 통해 송신하고 상기 낮은 주파수 채널 부분을 통해 수신하고, 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛이 상기 낮은 주파수 채널 부분을 통해 상기 기지국들 중 하나에 송신하고 상기 높은 주파수 채널 부분을 통해 상기 기지국으로부터 수신함으로써, 상기 휴대 유닛과 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛 간의 통신과 상기 이동 차량 중계 유닛과 상기 기지국들 중 하나 간의 통신을 설정하는 단계를 포함하는 통신 시스템의 통신 방법.
