Abstract
무선 통신 시스템들 내의 노드들 사이에서 강화된 사용자 장비(UE) 보조 정보를 통신하는 시스템들 및 방법들이 개시된다. UE는 자신의 선호들, 제약들 및/또는 요건들을 진화된 노드 B(eNodeB)에 UE 보조 정보의 형태로 통신함으로써 절전 및 레이턴시 요건들을 더 효과적으로 달성한다. UE는 예를 들어, 불연속 수신(DRX) 세팅들의 우선 세트의 표시, 현재 데이터 트래픽 상태들, 예상 데이터 트래픽 상태들, 전력 또는 성능 선호들 및/또는 셀들 사이의 UE의 이동의 표시를 포함할 수 있다.
Description
본 발명은 무선 통신 네트워크에 관한 것이다. 구체적으로, 본 발명은 무선 통신 시스템들 내의 노드(node)들 사이에서 강화된 사용자 장비 보조 정보를 통신하는 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것이다.
무선 모바일 통신 기술은 기지국 및 무선 모바일 디바이스들 사이에서 데이터를 송신하기 위하여 다양한 표준 및 프로토콜을 사용한다. 무선 통신 시스템 표준 및 프로토콜은 제 3 세대 파트너십 프로젝트(third generation partnership project; 3GPP) 롱텀 에볼루션(long term evolution; LTE), 통상적으로 산업 그룹들에 WiMAX(Worldwide interoperability for Microwave Access)로 공지되어 있는 국제 전기전자 기술자 협회(Institute of Electrical and Electronics project; IEEE) 802.16 표준 및 통상적으로 산업 그룹들에 WiFi로 공지되어 있는 IEEE 802.11 표준을 포함할 수 있다. LTE 시스템들에서의 3GPP 무선 액세스 네트워크(radio access network; RAN)들에서, 기지국은 진화된 범용 지상 무선 액세스 네트워크(Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network; E-UTRAN) 노드 B(또한 흔히 진화된 노드 B들, 강화된 노드 B들, eNodeB들 또는 eNB들로 표기된다) 및 E-UTRAN 내에서 사용자 장비(user equipment; UE)로 공지되어 있는 무선 모바일 디바이스와 통신하는 무선 네트워크 제어기(Radio Network Controller; RNC)들이 결합된 것일 수 있다. 다운링크(downlink; DL) 송신은 기지국(또는 eNodeB)로부터 무선 모바일 디바이스(또는 UE)로의 통신일 수 있고 업링크(uplink; UL) 송신은 무선 모바일 디바이스로부터 기지국으로의 통신일 수 있다.
이전의 LTE 시스템들을 포함하는 많은 무선 시스템들에서, UE들은 UE의 배터리를 연장시키고/시키거나 UE에서 가동 중인 애플리케이션들에 대해 더 양호한 성능(예를 들어, 레이턴시(latency)의 면에서)을 달성하는 특정한 기능들 및 프로세스들을 거의 제어하지 않거나 전혀 제어하지 않는다. 오히려, 많은 그와 같은 기능들 및 프로세스들은 UE로부터의 입력 없이 eNodeB에 의해 결정된다.

I. UE 보조 정보의 예들
A. 패킷 IAT
하나의 실시예에서, UE 보조 정보(112)는 UE(100)에서 UL 패킷 IAT와 연관되는 데이터를 포함한다. 패킷 IAT는 UE(100)에서의 패킷 도착들 사이의 시간 기간의 측정치이고 UE(100)에서 현재 가동 중인 애플리케이션들의 유형들에 대응할 수 있다. A(1) - 단일 비트 트래픽 유형 또는 패킷 IAT UE 보조 정보

A(3) - 상이한 패킷 IAT 포맷들을 선택하여 보고

A(4)- IAT 대 다음 패킷 도착 정보를 선택적으로 보고
특정한 실시예들에서, UE(100)는 패킷 IAT 값(예를 들어, 평균 IAT 또는 최대 IAT) 대신에 다음 패킷 도착 정보를 선택적으로 보고할 수 있다. 다음 패킷 도착 정보는 UE(100)에 의한 예측일 수 있거나 애플리케이션으로부터 애플리케이션 프로그래밍 인터페이스(application programming interface; API)를 통해 디바이스/매체 액세스 제어(media access control; MAC) 층으로 통과되는 정보에 기초할 수 있다. 일부 경우들에서, 바로 다음 패킷 도착 시간에 대한 정보는 평균 또는 최대 IAT보다 더 유익할 수 있다.
상술한 바와 같이, 패킷 IAT는 두 연속하여 도착하는 패킷들 또는 패킷들의 버스트들 사이의 간격을 측정한 것이다. 패킷 IAT는 예를 들어 접속되는 모드의 현재 DRX 구성이 적절한지 또는 이것이 조정되어야 하는지를 결정하는 데 유용하다. 한편, 다음 패킷 도착 시간은 현재의 업링크 송신 및 다음 도착하는 패킷 사이의 간격에 대응한다. 다음 패킷 도착 시간은 예를 들어 패킷들이 가까운 장래에 예상되지 않을 때 UE(100)가 유휴 모드가 되어야 하는지 또는 패킷들이 곧 예상될 때 UE(100)가 접속 모드로 유지되어야 하는지를 결정하는 데 유용하다.
도 4는 하나의 실시예에 따라 패킷 IAT 또는 다음 패킷 도착 정보를 선택적으로 보고하는 흐름도이다. 이 예에서, UE(100)는 자체의 UL 전송 버퍼에서 더 많은 패킷들이 존재하는지를 질의한다(400). III. 예시 모바일 디바이스

Claims (15)
- 사용자 장비(user equipment: UE)용 방법으로서,
제 3 세대 파트너십 프로젝트(third generation partnership project: 3GPP) 롱텀 에볼루션(long term evolution: LTE) 무선 네트워크에서 업링크 전용 제어 채널(uplink dedicated control channel: UL-DCCH) 메시지를 생성하는 단계 ― 상기 UL-DCCH 메시지는 절전 세팅(power saving setting)의 선택 시에 eNodeB(evolved Node B)를 보조하기 위해 전력 선호 표시 파라미터(power preference indication parameter)를 포함함 ― 와,
상기 전력 선호 표시 파라미터를 정상 전력 소비 세팅 또는 저 전력 소비 세팅으로 설정하는 단계와,
상기 eNodeB에 의해 선택된 절전 세팅을 처리하는 단계를 포함하는
방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 전력 선호 표시 파라미터는 단일 비트를 포함하고,
상기 방법은, 상기 정상 전력 소비 세팅 또는 상기 저 전력 소비 세팅을 표시하도록 상기 비트를 설정하는 단계를 더 포함하는
방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 선택된 절전 세팅은 불연속 수신(discontinuous reception: DRX) 세팅을 포함하는
방법.
- 방법을 구현하기 위해 실행되도록 구성된 컴퓨터 판독가능한 프로그램 코드가 저장되어 있는 컴퓨터 판독가능한 저장 매체로서,
상기 방법은,
절전 세팅의 선택 시에 eNodeB(evolved Node B)를 보조하기 위해 전력 선호 표시 파라미터를 포함하는 업링크 전용 제어 채널(UL-DCCH) 메시지를 생성하는 단계와,
상기 전력 선호 표시 파라미터를 정상 전력 소비 세팅 또는 저 전력 소비 세팅으로 설정하는 단계와,
상기 eNodeB에 의해 선택된 절전 세팅을 처리하는 단계를 포함하는
컴퓨터 판독가능한 저장 매체.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,
상기 전력 선호 표시 파라미터는 단일 비트를 포함하고,
상기 방법은, 상기 정상 전력 소비 세팅 또는 상기 저 전력 소비 세팅을 표시하도록 상기 비트를 설정하는 단계를 더 포함하는
컴퓨터 판독가능한 저장 매체.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,
상기 선택된 절전 세팅은 불연속 수신(DRX) 세팅을 포함하는
컴퓨터 판독가능한 저장 매체.
- 사용자 장비(UE)용 장치로서,
절전 세팅의 선택 시에 eNodeB(evolved Node B)를 보조하기 위해 전력 선호 표시 파라미터를 포함하는 업링크 전용 제어 채널(UL-DCCH) 메시지를 생성하는 수단과,
상기 전력 선호 표시 파라미터를 정상 전력 소비 세팅 또는 저 전력 소비 세팅으로 선택적으로 설정하는 수단과,
상기 eNodeB에 의해 선택된 절전 세팅을 처리하는 수단을 포함하는
장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,
상기 전력 선호 표시 파라미터는 단일 비트를 포함하고,
상기 UL-DCCH 메시지를 생성하는 수단은, 상기 정상 전력 소비 세팅 또는 상기 저 전력 소비 세팅을 표시하도록 상기 비트를 설정하도록 구성되는
장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,
상기 eNodeB에 의해 선택된 절전 세팅은 불연속 수신(DRX) 세팅을 포함하는
장치.
- eNodeB(evolved Node B)에서, UE가 절전 선호 표시를 제공하도록 구성됨을 표시하는 UE 기능 메시지(capability message)를 수신하는 단계와,
상기 UE 기능 메시지에 응답하여, 상기 UE를 정상 전력 소비 구성으로 구성하는 단계와,
업링크 제어 채널에서 상기 UE로부터 상기 절전 선호 표시를 포함하는 메시지를 수신하는 단계와,
상기 절전 선호 표시를 포함하는 메시지의 수신에 응답하여, 상기 정상 전력 소비 구성으로부터 저 전력 구성으로 상기 UE를 변경하도록 제어 파라미터 옵션을 선택하는 단계와,
상기 선택된 제어 파라미터 옵션을 상기 UE에 송신하는 단계를 포함하는
방법.
- 제 10 항에 있어서,
상기 UE 기능 메시지를 수신하는 단계는, 상기 UE에 대한 상기 eNodeB의 접속 설정 또는 재설정 시에 상기 UE가 전력 선호를 지원함을 표시하는 무선 자원 제어(radio resource control: RRC) 정보 요소를 수신하는 단계를 포함하는
방법.
- 제 10 항에 있어서,
상기 선택된 제어 파라미터 옵션은 불연속 수신(DRX) 구성을 포함하는
방법.
- eNodeB(evolved Node B)용 장치로서,
UE가 절전 선호 표시를 제공하도록 구성됨을 표시하는 UE 기능 메시지(capability message)를 수신하는 수단과,
상기 UE 기능 메시지에 응답하여, 상기 UE를 정상 전력 소비 구성으로 구성하는 수단과,
업링크 제어 채널에서 상기 UE로부터 상기 절전 선호 표시를 포함하는 메시지를 수신하는 수단과,
상기 절전 선호 표시를 포함하는 메시지의 수신에 응답하여, 상기 정상 전력 소비 구성으로부터 저 전력 구성으로 상기 UE를 변경하도록 제어 파라미터 옵션을 선택하는 수단을 포함하는
장치.
- 제 13 항에 있어서,
상기 UE 기능 메시지를 수신하는 수단은, 상기 UE에 대한 상기 eNodeB의 접속 설정 또는 재설정 시에 상기 UE가 전력 선호를 지원함을 표시하는 무선 자원 제어(RRC) 정보 요소를 수신하도록 더 구성되는
장치.
- 제 13 항에 있어서,
상기 선택된 제어 파라미터 옵션은 불연속 수신(DRX) 구성을 포함하는
장치.
