Description

NATURAL PAINT COMPOSITION [0002]

The present invention relates to a natural coating composition, and more particularly, to a natural coating composition containing clay such as yellow clay or kaolin as an eco-friendly material free from harmfulness.

In general, a coating material used to protect the inside or outside surface of a building and improve aesthetics is a chemical mixture of organic solvents, pigments, and the like. Chemicals released from paints, especially volatile organic compounds such as benzene, chloroform, styrene, and formaldehyde, are toxic and cause environmental pollution as well as harmful to the human body. In recent years, sick house syndrome, which causes headache, dermatitis and the like due to the influence of compounds generated from building materials and paints of newly constructed buildings, has become a social problem.

In order to solve such a problem, various natural coating compositions have been proposed in which an eco-friendly material not using an artificial synthetic binder, and further, functionalities such as antibacterial and deodorizing are introduced. For example, Korean Patent No. 10-1254579 discloses a method for preparing a natural aqueous coating composition comprising a non-toxic ceramic component and a non-toxic water-soluble organic binder. Korean Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 2013-0019603 discloses a composition for coating a building, which is environmentally friendly as an ocher coating material and has an air quality improving effect.

However, there is still a problem that cracks (cracks) are generated in the coating film formed by applying the coating material and drying it in the environment-friendly coating material. Such cracks not only deteriorate the aesthetics but also fail to protect the building properly. .

Particularly, it is difficult to solve the cracking problem in the case of using clay such as yellow soil or kaolin while using water as a solvent for dissolving the components constituting the paint.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a natural coating composition which has excellent coating performance and maximizes crack resistance of a coating film.

Natural coating compositions for one purpose of the present invention include yellow earth or kaolin, bentonite, sodium silicate, borax, starch and water.

In one embodiment, the natural coating composition may further comprise rice hull powder.

In one embodiment, the natural coating composition comprises 3 to 8 parts by weight of bentonite, 1 to 1.5 parts by weight of sodium silicate, 0.8 to 1 part by weight of borax, 0.1 to 2 parts by weight of starch, 0.1 to 2 parts by weight of rice hull powder 0.1 To 1 part by weight of water and 1 to 10 parts by weight of water.

In one embodiment, the natural coating composition comprises 210 to 270 parts by weight of zeolite, 30 to 40 parts by weight of an inorganic pigment, 20 to 30 parts by weight of bentonite, 1 to 10 parts by weight of sodium silicate, To 10 parts by weight of starch, 1 to 10 parts by weight of starch, 1 to 2 parts by weight of rice hull powder and 65 to 85 parts by weight of water.

In one embodiment, the natural coating composition may further comprise at least one selected from guar gum and xanthan gum.

According to the natural coating composition of the present invention, it is possible to maximize the crack resistance by containing bentonite, sodium silicate, borax and starch in a paint using water as a solvent. At the same time, the natural coating composition according to the present invention can have excellent painting performance.
