Description
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to learning technology, and more particularly, to a learning system using a computer.
Sociologists have analyzed why games are so attractive that many people are addicted to them. These game characteristics are often called game dynamics. One of the game dynamics is a predetermined reward. Participants who have accumulated certain game points are determined to obtain social status or special items. Games have this determined reward, so gamers spend their time and effort. Another dynamic is measurable achievement. Unlike the real world, real-time measurable achievements make cybergame spaces attractive. Another dynamic feature is show off. Since these achievements are open to all game participants participating in cyberspace, they will strive to achieve higher outcomes.
Compared to such games, computer learning rarely adds addictiveness to participants.
A new learning system that reflects game dynamics is proposed. The proposed learning system enhances the learning effect by suggesting incentives to motivate learning and continue learning behavior.
In addition, the learning effect is enhanced through collaboration and solidarity among learning participants in the group who have the same interests in learning.
The proposed learning system applies quantified assessments to learning events and updates and displays learning progress in real time against quantitative figures.
It also clarifies the rewards provided when the target outcomes are achieved, and quantifies and suggests how much learning should be conducted to receive the rewards.
It also enhances learning by encouraging learners in groups with the same interests in learning to collaborate through sharing outcomes or solidifying outcomes.
Learning progress is assessed as a quantified figure, and assessment of learning behavior is objectified. In addition, real-time learning progress is presented along with performance targets that must be achieved to be rewarded, providing incentives for continuous learning behavior. The quantitative progress of learning in the group is posted so that competition and self-discipline needs are met, thereby providing learning motivation. Competition between groups creates a sense of solidarity among learning participants in the group and enables collaboration in learning.

1 illustrates a schematic configuration of an entire system to which a learning system according to an embodiment is applied.
In one embodiment, the
In one embodiment, each learning participant is provided with learning contents through a screen in which quantified learning results are displayed along with learning outcomes of other learning participants, and proceed with learning. Communication between learning participants in each
2 schematically illustrates an overall configuration of a learning system according to an embodiment. A learning system and a learning method according to an embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. As shown, the learning system may include
The
A learning event is a breakdown of learning participants' learning behaviors by characteristics. For example, in the case of learning English, a learning event may be reading, writing, or speaking events of an object word. In another example, mathematics learning can be reading, writing, speaking, or solving problems with mathematical properties. According to an aspect, a target point granted for each learning event may be defined for an object included in each learning content. For example, the definition of the target points given for each learning event for the three words below.
According to the table above, the word 'insomnia' is defined as a goal point that completes one step of learning after completing 10 readings, 3 talking and 3 writings.
The
In addition, when the learning event for the content is input, the
In one embodiment, in English learning, the
The
In another embodiment, the
In another embodiment, the
The learning system according to another embodiment includes a learning
3A shows an example of the screen layout displayed on the client terminal. The learning
According to another exemplary embodiment, the
3B shows another example of the screen layout displayed on the client terminal. Compared to the example shown in FIG. 3A, a
The learning system according to another exemplary embodiment may further include a
According to another embodiment, the learning system may further include a
According to another embodiment, the learning system analyzes the behavioral patterns of the learning participants through the distribution of the learning events that the learning participants have achieved for the objects, and then applies the next learning content according to the learning patterns of other learning participants with similar patterns. The
This matrix is very sparse, but it is a sparse matrix filled with many '0's. Therefore, by using Singular Value Decomposition (SVD), the size of the matrix is reduced to a useful form, and cosine similarity is used to calculate the similarity of the learner's behavior and other learners with similar behavior. Find the learning pattern of the class and find the recommended objects that the current participant needs to learn more to fill the learning pattern. Including these objects, content suitable for the next learning content may be selected.
In this process, it is possible that learners with high learning progress may find the recommended object, for example, an English word, which is already known, and this is more likely if the word is known by many people compared to the level of progress of the user. . On the contrary, if the general use of the suggested word is low compared to the progress of learning, the word is more likely to be unknown. In addition, in the case of a learner with a similar behavior pattern, if the recommended value is a value in a thesaurus or a similar sentence pattern, the learner may provide another paraphrase. Based on this analysis, rather than simply recommending a word as the next lesson, it is possible to check a known word in advance, to recommend a new next lesson, or to recommend similar patterns of words, idioms, and sentence structures.
The recommendation algorithm is not only the above-mentioned method, but various algorithms may be used in some cases. For example, in order to group users into groups, a nonlinear learning classifier can be applied by applying a kernel function to a unique matrix (SVM). Through this, groups of similar learning participants can be formed to induce recommendations for learning from each other.
