즉, 이끼(50) 덩어리에 상추 종자(3)를 심어 에틸렌가스(5) 주입과 약간의 BA(생장조절제) 혼용 처리를 통해 상추 종자를 단기간에 발아시켜 보았다. 에틸렌은 식물의 발아를 촉진시키는 것으로 이미 알려져 있다. 즉, 발아 촉진을 위해 전처리로 에틸렌 2ppm 을 밀폐상자(1) 내에 주입하고, 생장촉진제인 벤질아미노퓨린(benzyl aminopurine) 1ppm 첨가한 물을 이끼(50)가 흡수하도록 하는데, 상기 벤질아미노퓨린은 사이토카이닌의 일종으로서 주로 세포분열을 촉진하고, 생장촉진, 세균발생억제, 휴면타파, 개화촉진 등의 효과를 가지고 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 플라스틱컵(2) 용기 내에는 유기농 비료와 상기한 성장촉진제가 혼합된 물을 흡수하도록 한다. 밀폐상자(1) 저면에는 저면케이스(7)가 설치되고 낮게 물(8)을 깔아 두고 그 위에 하부가 개방된 밀폐상자(1)를 덮으면 밀폐상자(1) 내부가 완전히 밀폐된다. 상기 조건으로 실험하면 하루 만에 종자가 거의 100% 발아되었다. 상기한 플라스틱컵(2) 내부의 안쪽 벽에는, 내측으로 통공(22)을 형성하고 내부에는 부유체(21)가 내장된 부유구(20)를 설치한 것을 특징으로 하는 이끼를 이용한 가정용 상추재배 키트Moss (50) in the mass,
