- 위장 장애를 가진 환자를 치료하기 위한 신경자극 장치로서,상기 장치는 식도 신경총(esophageal plexus), 아우에르바흐의 근육신경총(myenteric plexus of aurbach), 마이너의 점막밑 신경총(submucous plexus of the meissner), 위의 소만곡의 주 신경(principal nerve of the lesser curvature of the stomach), 및 미주 신경의 위 가지(gastric branch of the vagus nerve)로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 미주 신경 및 흉부 내장 신경 중 하나 이상을 포함하는 환자의 자율 신경의 한 곳 이상에 직접 접촉하도록 구성된 하나 이상의 전극을 포함하며,상기 신경자극 장치는 상기 하나 이상의 전극을 이용하여 자율 신경 중 한 곳 이상에 전기 신호를 인가하여 위장 장애를 치료하도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 하나 이상의 전극은 식도 신경총, 아우에르바흐의 근육신경총, 마이너의 점막밑 신경총, 위의 소만곡의 주 신경, 및 미주 신경의 위 가지로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 환자의 미주 신경의 한 곳 이상에 직접 접촉하여, 전기 신호를 상기 미주 신경의 한 곳 이상에 인가하도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 위장 장애는 운동성 장애, 위 장애, 산 분비 장애, 만성적인 메스꺼움과, 운동성 장애, 신경성 식욕부진, 신경성 다식증, 강박성 과식 장애 및 폭식 장애로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 섭식 장애 중 한 가지 이상을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 상기 장치는 상기 전기 신호를 인가하여 산 생산, 경막의 근육 경련, 식도의 경련, 위장 경련과, 만성적인 메스꺼움, 운동성 장애, 신경성 식욕부진, 신경성 다식증, 강박성 과식 및 폭식 중 한가지 이상과 관련있는 증상들 중 한가지 이상의 작용을 경감시키도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 상기 장치는 구심성 활동 전위, 원심성 활동 전위, 구심성 과분극, 역치 이하의 탈분극 및 원심성 과분극으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 생리학적 반응을 형성하기에 유효한 전기 신호를 인가하도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 5항에 있어서, 상기 장치는 원심성 활동 전위를 구심성 활동 전위와 병행하여 형성되기에 충분한 전기 신호를 상기 미주 신경의 한 곳 이상에 인가하도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 상기 신경자극 장치는 프로그래밍 가능한 전기 신호 발생기를 더 포함하며, 상기 장치는 상기 신호 발생기를 상기 하나 이상의 전극에 커플링시키고, 상기 전기 신호 발생기로 전기 신호를 발생시키고, 상기 전기 신호를 상기 전극에 인가하도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 7항에 있어서, 상기 프로그래밍 가능한 전기 신호 발생기는 전류 세기, 펄스 진동수, 펄스 폭, 온-타임 및 오프-타임으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 하나 이상의 파라미터로 상기 전기 신호를 규정하도록 구성되고, 상기 하나 이상의 파라미터는 위장 장애를 치료하기 위해 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 상기 신경자극 장치는 위장 장애의 증상을 검출하고, 상기 증상 검출에 반응하여 전기 신호의 인가를 개시하도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 9항에 있어서, 상기 증상의 검출은 운동성 장애, 위 장애, 산 분비 장애, 만성적인 메스꺼움 장애와, 운동성 장애, 신경성 식욕부진, 신경성 다식증, 강박성 과식 및 폭식 장애로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 섭식 장애 중에서 한가지 이상을 검출하는 것을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 상기 신경자극 장치는 1차 전기 신호를 1차 치료 기간동안 상기 미주 신경의 한 곳 이상에 인가하고, 2차 전기 신호를 2차 치료 기간동안 상기 미주 신경의 한 곳 이상에 인가하여 위장 장애를 치료하도록 추가적으로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 11항에 있어서, 상기 신경자극 장치는 상기 위장 장애의 증상을 검출하도록 추가적으로 구성되며, 상기 증상의 검출은 산 생산 인자, 경막 근육 경련, 경막의 계측 결과, 식도 경련, 위 경련, 메스꺼움과 관련있는 환자로부터 유래된 외부 입력 정보 중에서 한 가지 이상을 이용하는 것을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 11항에 있어서, 상기 신경자극 장치는 1시간 내지 6개월을 포함하는 상기 1차 치료 기간동안 전기 신호를 인가하도록 추가적으로 구성되며, 1개월 내지 10년을 포함하는 상기 2차 치료 기간동안 전기 신호를 인가하도록 추가적으로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 상기 하나 이상의 전극은 나선형 전극(spiral electrode) 및 패들 전극(paddle electrode)으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 신경자극 장치.
- 식도 신경총, 아우에르바흐의 근육신경총, 마이너의 점막밑 신경총, 위의 소만곡의 주 신경, 및 미주 신경의 위 가지로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 환자의 미주 신경의 한 곳 이상에 직접 접촉하여, 전기 신호를 상기 미주 신경의 한 곳 이상에 인가하도록 구성된 하나 이상의 전극을 포함하고, 상기 하나 이상의 전극을 이용하여 미주 신경 중 한 곳 이상에 전기 신호를 인가하여 위장 장애를 치료하도록 구성된, 위장 장애를 가진 환자를 치료하기 위한 신경자극 장치; 및상기 신경에 커플링하도록 구성된, 자기 자극기, 화학적 자극기 및 생물학적 자극기 중 하나 이상을 포함하는, 신경자극 시스템.
